IS copywriting the king?

Hey warriors, whats up?

Lately I have become very interested in learning copywriting as I believe it is one of the very core skill to become a successful IMer.

I think You need to have basic copywriting or direct marketing knowledge to write good copy, good PPC ads, persuasive email copy, articles etc.

I think persuasive writing is a skill which is needed in almost every aspect of IM.

Would love to hear your thoughts

If you are planning on selling your own products to people then it is a no bainer, unless of course you can afford tens of thousands of dollars for a name professional, but even then, that could take a while. I hear that some of them have 6 month waiting lists and even if you have the finance, they may still reject you since they might not find they get along with you personally etc.

Yes. To sell lemonade on a summer day, all you need is the sign.

So you need to get good at finding those kinds of situations, or learn to write copy and create hunger in whatever market.

If you get good at writing copy, you can create your opportunities instead of finding them. But you're right. It's not necessary. But it helps.

Copywriting is a catch-all terms for a lot of skills. Like all writing
the actual wordsmithing skills grow from consistent practice
and voracious reading. The other part of copywriting is the
structuring of ideas and the use of specific mechanisms to
persuade and goad readers to action.

Without an understanding of salesmanship, good writers struggle
to create effective copy. At the same time, poor writers who
are good salespeople struggle to write good copy as well.

So it's a set of skills. You have to write a lot to be a good writer,
in any writing specialty. With all writing though it's the thinking behind
    the words that matters.
