What are other powerful advertising methods apart from Google.

If you weren't advertising on Google, what would be your next two methods that you would use. I say this because in the future I don't want my income relying on Google, would be nice to have some backups.

  • 1. Building long term traffic strategies through backlinks.

    2. Other context sensitive advertising programmes, such as Microsoft adCenter.

Google is the biggest, but the next 2 best ones when it comes to ppc are: Yahoo and Bing.

You can also try banner advertising. This is what the Adsense program basically is (at least the image ads part of it), so you're simply cutting the middleman and getting a better price for your advertising in the process.

      Dan.

I'd stay away from MySpace ads.

Who are you trying to target?
What are you trying to sell?

Google only has about 20% of the paid advertising on the Internet. The remaining 80% comes from advertising networks (advertising companies) of which there are hundreds. For the most part they sell advertising by CPM, CPC, and CPA.

As you surf the Net and see banner ads running down the side of webpages, pop-unders when you leave the site, and some pop-over ads, these all come from ads place by advertising networks. You can use the networks to place your ads.

While some of those require high dollar amounts for advertising, there is a large number that will let you start with $100 to $200 minimum budget.

I am not an affiliate of Jonathan Mizel and his "Traffic Evolution." That is his program about how to locate and use any of these ad networks, and avoid Google. I found it to be an excellent $200 course.
