Do you take time to reflect/re-evaluate?

Hi warriors

Having recently started a new wordpress blog I've been working so hard and putting so many hours in that I'm finding I'm getting nowhere fast with it.

This is the first wordpress blog I've done and here's a list of what I've been doing:

- Writing and submitting articles
- Answering quesions on Yahoo Answers
- Submitting comments to related blogs
- Registered with stumbleupon
- Added a signature in emails
- Sent out humorous emails related to my site to get forwarded with my sig
- Outsourced article writing
- Learning more about writing good articles (thanks to all Steven Wagenheim's posts)
- html for adding text links to resource boxes
- Managing and maintaining Wordpress
- Research into social networking sites
- Learning and starting to implement backlinking and so much more.....

Since yesterday I've decided to down tools, so to speak, take stock of what I'm doing and re-evaluate!

The conclusion I've come to is that although Im trying to make money from my site, I'm trying TOO hard!

I'm racing ahead at such a speed of knots in my efforts, putting in so many hours that I'm not getting much sleep and I have finally decided to STOP what I'm doing! I'm not making progress - it's like running a marathon through thick fog and not seeing the path ahead of me.
Having written articles in the past on information overload it's hapening all over again - so what's the solution?

Here's what I've decided to do while waiting for the fog to lift:

- Prioritise what I need to do in order to move forward.
- Make contact with warriors that can help with certain areas such as article writing, SEO etc and outsource where possible, on an extremely tight budget.
- Write a schedule of work for things I should do daily and weekly.
- Take time out to assess what I am trying to achieve and consider the best way to move forward, from all I've learnt in the forum.
- Make a list of all the things I can do myself and a list for what I need help with.
- Have a day off from 'work' and have a 'me' day.

So far, everytime I start doing something else either the phone rings or I find myself in front of the computer again - so even my plan isn't going according to plan!

One thing I will NEVER do is to give up!! For all the ups and downs I still believe that with a vision, committment, determination and work then I WILL succeeed - it may take a long time but that's OK with me. I've made money before so I know it can be done and I can do it again!

I'd be interested to hear from others that have faced this problem and how you have managed to overcome it.

Best wishes

Mary
