hi all

I need advice, what i did was researching for keywords for my niche and I found some that seemed to be OK, I even made 2 sales. But the sales stopped and not too much traffic coming to the sites and blogs anymore.

I did the same keyword research again and I was surprised to see that my first research was totally wrong and that my keywords do not have no searches at all.

Yes, I am stupid you can say it out load, but I don't care because these sales brought me 100$ each, so the keywords did their magic.

And now I am searching for a solution for my situation
I don't want to create the campaign from start, how can I add or replace my current keywords without totally destroy my current standings ?

Anyone have any idea ?????

thanks

shlomi

You could just invest another $8 into another domain. Seems those keywords you first selected are longtails... and I wouldn't be suprised if they made you more sales over tme.

Plug your target competitor site URL into the URL part of the google keyword selector tool and let it do its magic - it will group your competition into categories for you.

actually i did a good job with two of my main keywords
with: "domain sales system" with or without the "" i am in the first page with 2-3 of my sites.

and with "domain sales machine" i am on the first page too

but not too many search for these keywords.

i need to go wider i think
how do i do it ?

Make a page for each phrase and optimize one page per phrase.

Go for shorter tails if you already have some long tails.

Unfortunately sometimes you can not rely on the long tail research. I have seen a lot of long tail keywords that show a lot of searches in Wordtracker free version(the sames goes for paid version), but when you check with other keyword tools (my best choice is Google keyword tool!) the search amounts are totally different.
I would not rely only on the long tail searches as it is better to target "normal" keywords by adding different small words in your copy that could give long tail keywords. Before that you just do your research in your niche and see the long tail keywords. Then you take out those small words that you see often and just put in your content. It is better to add new content than hope that you will just change keywords and it will work. I hope this makes sense to you. :-)

    Best regards,
    Laura

      that's what i decided that I'll do
I'll create more content pages with shorter keywords but will still insert long ones too.

Hope this will work for you! It could be great if you could post your feedback later on when you have tried this strategy. I have seen so many newbies that concentrate only on the long tail searches (what is actually not a bad strategy) that they sometimes put so much effort on some low search amount keywords when it would have been more useful if they would have done more marketing to their webiste.

James' advice is top notch. The more content targeting different long tail keywords you have, the better. That way you'll have "feelers" out all over the Internet. You might continue to get traffic from the keywords you're focusing on now, but there is nothing to stop you from finding even more keywords
