Getting Yelp Reviews Out of Their Crappy Filter?

Do you guys have any ideas on how to prevent your clients reviews from getting in Yelps horrible filter? I have 7 reviews from actual clients that are all in the filter.

Also I have a few offline clients I consulted and their customer reviews arent showing up for their yelp profile either?

Are all the reviews being posted by the same person? Even though they are being written by clients, if they are being posted from the same IP address you are bound to have problems. I've found that I've really got to change things up to get multiple reviews through (change with proxy, clear cookies, etc.)

If that is their first review it will often get caught by the filter to prevent people from stuffing their own business with only positive reviews or slamming your competition.

Once the accounts on Yelp age and the reviewers post more reviews that is in line with an average user the reviews will show under your business.

We say Luther Lowe, Yelps small business outreach director speak at the National Restaurant Association show this year and that was what he told us.

Thanks for the reply Matt and 5 of them reviews are from actual clients of mine and different people with different IPs etc. But they are new to yelp and I was their first review.

Thanks Shane and thats what seems to be tripping their filters I think. But unfortunately I cant really ask my clients to write a few reviews on yelp for others and then after a couple days go to my page and write me one. That would be just too much work to ask them to do.

Also I did read somewhere on yelp that they caution reviewers to write a review because they were asked or given a special offer in exchange for a review.

I am surprised that when I searched WF I didnt find anyone covering the yelp topic.

It is tough with new businesses and reviewers. I would use the method you are trying with one-off reviews for Google Places and let that listing show before the Yelp listing in search.

Thanks and I will do that. I have all my google maps/ places reviews showing and only 2 out of 8 yelps ones showing.
