Any idea what this Pingback Spam Tool is?

INTERNET MARKETING

Every time I make a new post on my Wordpress Blog, it instantly starts getting Pingbacks for irrelevant websites. I've attached a picture so you can see what it looks like.

The Pingbacks show up as a comment and get counted as one as well.

I usually just hit spam and delete them. However, it's getting beyond annoying. I just had to delete about 15 on my last blog post.

Can anyone tell me what tool people are using to post the bullsh*t?

It's beyond annoying.

They are just splogs from what I can see.. most of my sites get them.

There's a bunch of plugins to stop it

I have a novel approach to this problem which I used briefly on one blog to deal with one spammer: on my policies and notices page, I stated that all comments not related to the content of the post are considered to be advertisments, and as such, will be billed at the appropriate rate. Additionally I included a notice that advertisers agreed to venue for legal action under my state laws and in my hometown. Since the spammer posted his email address, I sent him a notice of the policy along with the bill. The spam stopped quickly and I got an apology. (Note: this is not designed to be legal advice, so you should probably consult your attorney before doing this.).
