When you provide $1 trial - do you need opt in product?

I am hoping potential members to my site will try it out for $1.

I wonder if I should then also have an opt in box on the site? If people are trying for $1 then I assume they would go onto my list.

If I offer a free opt in product I imagine it would attract freebie seekers.

Advice needed

Thanks

    Using paypal as an example...

You can have a paypal button linking to the $1 subscription offer.

Then you can pick up the email addresses from paypal if you want to send emails.

Same would work with any payment processor.

You Definitely should have an opt in on your site. Not only is it a prime opportunity to build your list, but you are offering something of your own. To me that's without a doubt the time to put your customers on a list so you can communicate with them. I also would think it would be necessary if they're getting access to your site.

As far as a free offer, I don't think you have to since you kind of already are giving a free trial away. But it always sweetens the deal and makes the customer even more happy. If you have something related to give away then you should go for it.
