What's Your Experience with MS Adcenter PPC

Is it just me???

I have had an opinion of MS Adcenter over the past 2-3 years that it hasn't been worth the time and trouble to set up a campaign. Let me explain.

Late last week I set up a whole new identical campaign in all three major search engines. Google and Yahoo all began bringing in immediate traffic. Adcenter, well, zero impressions, and obviously zero visitors. This is just the latest example; its happened to me repeatedly before.

Earlier this year, I had an account rep from MS call me to generate some new business, and I explained the problem to her. "Well, we'll have to fix that. Let's see what we can do." No discernible results were generated.

Anyone else having any success with Adcenter, or is that 'resource' irrelevant?

  • I've found that compared to yahoo, and espcially Adwords, it blows.

The conversions are weaker, my price per click is higher, and the volume isn't the same.

Then again, I'm in a very heavily competed market, so my results are skewed a bit.

I know a few marketers that have found niches being completely ignored ppc wise on Adcenter and are raking in some big bucks.

It took me long enough to figure out Adwords and Yahoo, maybe I just don't have the same fight in me to deal with Adcenter.

Money isn't real, George. It doesn't matter. It only seems like it does.

Some of my best converting traffic comes from using AdCenter.

Here are some of the pros and con's

      Pro's

      • Cheaper traffic
      • Keyword research reporting is good
      • Sometimes better converting traffic
      Con's

      • Not the same volume as Adwords
      • Reporting is not realtime
      • Geo-Targeting features are flawed
      Overall, I like Adcenter.

What I like best is using Adcenter, Yahoo, and Google.
