This might be a stupid beginner's question but...

Hi everyone. I am new to IM. Just wondering if it is REALLY possible to become extremely successful as an affiliate marketer in today's time or not. Can a beginner do it successfully?
Does this forum offer any good/inexpensive coaching/training for beginners?

Is it a very good idea to pick only one area of IM to start out with or practice several at a time? I am thinking about affiliate marketing to begin.

I will join the WAR ROOM ASAP to gain access to those teachings as well.

If anyone has any advice on any Afilliate Marketing courses for beginners i would greatly appreciate it. Thinking about Commission Blueprint but not sure.

thanks everyone!

Of course it is possible. You figure you just need to be able to process information about what you can do that puts you in the right place at the right time. Most likely this will involve some of your own unique ideas combined with what you learn, and then having a well implemented plan. You'll also find the right people to help you (don't forget how important people are to your implementation).

Nate, a lot depends on your definitions. What does "extremely successful" look like to you? Does the beginner have other skills that can accelerate their progress (such as effective writing, ability to install simple software such as blogs, etc.)?

If someone just learned how to turn on their computer, the odds of quick success are pretty long. If you have an ounce of native wit and the patience to learn and apply, the odds of succeeding in the long haul are pretty darn good.

For the record, it's not a stupid question. And you sure don't strike me as a stupid beginner. Beginner, maybe. Stupid, no.

Most importantly, remember you have to work hard at first. There's no magic bullet. Find something that you truly believe will work. You have to do your research. Then, find the best teacher you can. Again, you have to do your research.

Set your goals high and work hard until you reach them. Do not be unrealistic and expect to make $1 million in your first month, however. Be realistic, like $3000/month, and reach towards that. Don't worry if it takes 3-6 months to get there, it's no problem. When you reach your goal, set another and another, etc.

There are lots of good courses out there so I can only say to do your research. I won't tell you which one to use. It only depends on your personal wishes and feelings.

Good luck. You can do it.

I would say it's very possible. But don't believe any quick-money-making-system. It may work for someone who has a strong foundation already,
but in my opinion not for newbies.

The Internet Marketing is quite attractive as there's a huge possibility for anyone can make a lot of money, 5 fitures and maybe 6 figures.

However from my experience it takes a lot of your efforts and time.
You may need a mindset that the Internet marketing as your main business, if you are serious about making money from Internet Marketing.

Also you gotta stick with one strategy first. There are heaps and heaps of different kind of strategies you can go with, but the important part is you need to choose one, and do your best to make money with it first before moving on another strategy.

      Good luck!

Nate, how far or how successful you get depends entirely on you. Is it possible to be successful with affiliate marketing? Sure, people have done it, but you should not weigh your success or lack thereof based on what others have done. Everyone works and reacts differently to every type of program. And not everyone achieves success with the same programs.

This said, establish short term goals and one final goal, then work hard at trying to accomplish them.

With regards to learning, you can pretty much learn from everyone on the WF in one way or another. What I suggest though is that you take in what you read, analyze it, dissect it, question it and then implement what you think will work best for you. More often than not it will be trial an error. Keep in mind that what others share as their experiences should not be taken literally but as a guide to your own success.

    Good luck

The challenge you might have is trying to block out all the hype and hoopla about the next shiny new product/system that seems to come out every month.

Find a solid system and get good at it. Only invest in tools/software that you feel will make your operations more efficient.

    Hope this helps.

Can it be done? Of course, almost anything CAN be done. Whether or not it will be done is up to you.

There are no stupid questions (except for the ones that don't get asked). If you don't ask, you don't know.

This place is a goldmine and success leaves traces (holy crap, could I possibly squeeze more cheesy catch phrases into one reply???)

Seriously though...stop looking and start getting down to business.

    You mention affiliate marketing....you need:

    1) A hungry market
    2) A decent offer properly presented
    3) A method of collecting their money

Yes, there's more to it than that but that's the bare minimum.

Let's look at the basics of affiliate marketing...maybe it will get your wheels turning so you can see what you're missing...

You identify a hungry market by finding out what is already selling or identifying a market that has a need not being filled well enough...

You research some BUYING keywords that these people are using to find the solution to their problem...

You buy a domain name around your main keyword....

You get the site hosted somewhere and install word press and a theme....

You get some content on that sites that makes use of your keywords...

You wait for the site to be indexed....

You add your offer to the site and more content...

You build traffic and backlinks to the site...

You check your stats to see where the traffic is coming from and how it's converting...

You focus on the stuff that is working and bringing you results...

If the site is making sales (and that was your goal), you're successful.

Now you rinse and repeat and multiply your successes. Looks pretty possible to me...

It is always possible, but it depends on how much commitment you bring to your cause...

The question should not be, Can I be successful with... ?

Instead, the question should be, Am I willing to do what it takes to be successful... ?

Most people do not have to worry about the competition standing in their way of success... Instead, they must worry about themselves standing in their way...

If you are committed to your own success and willing to study and learn from everyone, then you will find the success you seek...

But if your commitment is only good for a couple weeks - as most people do - then you will fail miserably at online marketing of any sort - affiliate marketing or otherwise....

Yes it's possible to make money in affiliate sales but competition for popular products is fierce you have to add your own unique angle to make sure those commissions come to you and not one of your competitors.

One way is to add a unique bonus here's an idea for you and anyone else reading why add a feel good factor bonus for the buyer.

If for example your selling a clickbank book training guide offer to send $50 to a doggy charity for every ten copies you sell. When faced with 2 or more identical offers what dog lover would turn down the opportunity to give $5 to help dogs in need just by clicking on your link rather than someone else's.

Yes, it is definitely possible. You do not have to promote only info products. There are sooo many products to promote - that people are buying every day. It can be really tough in the beginning because there is so much to learn. But if you press past that then the sky is the limit!

No questions are stupid...some answer are though!

      But some answers are golden!

You have got to be smart enough to sort out the good answers and ignore the others.

Don't be easily convinced there is an easy path and fall victim to the hype.

I will always remember what an online acquaintance told me when I first began my online quest. He said, "Study this business first and do not spend any money for the first six months you are online. Most things you will spend money on is out there for free."

It may be the most important answer I ever received!

Nobody can teach this stuff to you. You will be exposed to some enlightening information, but in the end, YOU must learn it. There is a big difference between teaching and learning.

Hey, I was replying to your other post but it seems it was deleted! here is what I wrote:

Wow, your story is very similar to mine! You just have to read my signature...

There are two differences though: I left work to take care of my then just born daughter and my background is precisely web development so I have a lot of experience in the field (mainly graphic/web design, PHP programming and SEO, lots of SEO -I was once the head of a large scale googlebombing scheme that put literally millions of landing pages in the first results of Google, but this was more than a decade ago, go figure!).

Now, in what I have almost zero experience is in affiliate marketing and specially email marketing, and that's why I'm here. In just one day I've remembered or learnt a lot of things!

I have very little money saved, just barely enough for the few sites I plan to launch in the coming months, but I'm not worried because I know it's going to be a thrilling experience and I'm confident that at least one of them will work (well, one has to be optimistic!).

I'd like to help you because I know very well how you feel, but as you can see I could take some help too, if not right now in two or three months if everything fails... which is always an option.

      Wish you the best!
And to the OP: of course it is possible to become extremely successful these days! The money is there by the loads, you just need it to change hands. Which is not easy (if it were well I wouldn't be here now, hehe) but is possible. BTW, some of us don't aim to become "extremely successful", I for one will be more than happy if I can make what I could be doing in a off-lin 9/5 job. At least this way I'll be able to work from home and my own boss which is enough pay for me.

Good luck and keep learning. You are in the right place!

EDIT: I have absolutely no idea why I ended up replying to a post from 2010!

    Hi,

(a surgeon isn't valuable until he learns how to do surgery properly... knowledge)

Here's the key to your success... Value, Value, Value and of course... More value. The more value you give to that spectator the better you will do. Remember, you're not trying to sell anything, you're trying to help people make an informed decision. Most people fail because they tend to forget that the wealthy are full of knowledge in which they pass through in their conversation that make them exceptionally more credible and that leads to riches which is as subjective as the beauty of Picasso's Weeping Woman.

    Knowledge is power
    Power is influence

Focus on one method... Master it, don't become a plumber, dentist, surgeon, dog catcher, weirdo and a professional marketer and wonder why you haven't mastered any of these skills. Patience is "the" virtue in this case.

Oh and no question is stupid and being inquisitive is the way to be

    hope this helps

    Warm Regards,

    Daniel Brown

The problem most people run into is with their Niche.

How successful do you think I'd be if I started a site in the How to clean Light-bulbs Niche?

    Probably not very successful.

You need to find a Niche that ALREADY has sufficient Traffic.

    Top 3 Niches:
    - Make money online
    - weightloss/Fitness
    - Dating

    These are proven Niches!

    Paid Traffic Methods:
    -Solo ads
    - PPC
    -PPV

    Free Traffic Methods:
    -Blogs
    -Articles
    -Social Media
    - Email

    Remember:
An amateur Marketer creates a product and searches for people to sell it to ( a market )

A Professional Marketer find people who want to buy, and finds something to SELL

yeah dude there are so many threads on this forum that show newbies how to make money, just pick one and stick to it.

Affiliate marketing is awesome for beginners, because you can start with little investment and get up and running fast. Just test different traffic sources, free and paid, and see what converts.

If anything, you should become a master at copywriting and sales and see how to use video and blogging and creating a personality, and convert that into leads, through an autoresponder. Send them cool stuff in email, help them solve a problem for free, and then send them promos, that have your affiliate link in it.
