Newbie needs help with autoblogs!

I want to build an autoblog to use with adsense. If I do this and I use the bye bye duplicate content plug in which automatically puts unique content on my blog then what else should I do to make sure it gets ranked in the serps? Should I still build backlinks and what is the best way to do this since I am not focusing on specific keywords?

    Of course build backlinks.

    If the autoblog is not niche and KW specific, then don't expect to earn a lot from it, at least from Adsense.

    First, decide upon a micro-niche, and do some KW research to find the most profitable KW's.

    Then setup the autoblog to post 1-2 posts/day so you have ample time to SEO almost every post.

      Do the autoblog plugins pull keyword rich articles or just any relevant article?

        Almost all the WP autoblog plugins will pull the articles from:
        1. The RSS feed URLS you provide, or
        2. The KW's you provide.

        For 2, sources like:

        * Amazon
        * Article
        * eBay
        * Clickbank
        * Yahoo Answers
        * Youtube
        * Translation
        * Flickr Image
        * Yahoo News
        * RSS
        * Commission Junction
        * Oodle
        * Shopzilla
        * Press Release
        * Twitter

    Yes, backlink is very important to rank high in SE . However, to earn decent amount from Adsense, traffic is not everything. Placement of ads, proper selection of ad channels holds great importance. I have seen the best results with simple text ads.

    Backlinks are important. Most people that build out autoblogs forget this step, either because they are lazy or just don't know. Don't get over zealous with the number of articles posted a day no more than 4-5. Also make sure to get your RSS feed publicized and out in the world.
