JV contests and prizes

I'm very excited because I'm planning my first "traditional" launch and will be inviting partners to promote. What are some good contests and/or contest prizes I could offer JV partners as incentive to stay involved and promote heavily? What are some good contests you've seen in the past that motivate JV'ers?

    It usually depends on the market. I'd survey your partners and ask them what they'd like.

    For example, one IMer I know asked his JV partners and they said they'd much rather get cash versus prizes... while another IMer asked his partners and they much prefer the fancy electronics that they'd never buy themselves otherwise.

    I like to think out of the box sometimes, too - if I do an Internet Marketing product, for example, and I have partners that get the value of good copy - I'll offer a free sales letter (I'll write it) which tends to have a high perceived value.

    Cash vs. electronics eh? I would prefer the cash because I may already own the electronics, but I can see where that would be strong incentive for someone who doesn't usually purchase that kind of stuff.

    Just curious, Rachel, what type of dollar value are you seeing on these prizes?

    For example, let's say it's going to take 500 or more of something win a contest against some strong JV partners, I would think a $147 iPod would not be much incentive. I suppose it's all relative to the commissions and revenue that are brought in.
