Can you or how do you add a clickable link on a youtube video?

    You have to add an http:// in front of your url that's it - no html is needed...for example just put http://www.warriorforum.com into a YT's description and it will be hyperlinked.

      Is there any point to adding the url to the actual video (within the video itself).

        Yeah, you should do both... in the Description and in the video itself.

    JayC81 gave really good advice, the answer is both, now I would recommend adding the URL not in the video but "on" the video using an Annotation but that's my preference.

    Clickable links to an external site - and the link is in inside the video - are only available through promoted videos. Its called a "call to action overlay".

    In other words - you have to pay to have the link to an external site in the video.

    You can do an annotation link, but those only go to internal links inside youtube.

    On a normal video that your not paying to promote, the only link to an external site you can have is in the video description and on your profile.

      If you're going to put a link in your description and you want people to notice it more, put an annotation directing people to it in the video.
