I am sorry for being a newbie with the following question

I have set a blog called mommychat.com and i am trying to bring in the traffic.
I don't have any money to spend on advertising, so i have made some research on SEO.
I have found a website called blogsynergy.com and it is kind of a social network for blog owners.
According to the website, i can request other blog owners to guest write articles for them and it will increase me page rank.
Should i do that? is it worth the time for me to write an article for someone else just to get a back link?
Please advice

    Don't apologize - ti's a good question. The site you mention is new and I'm not familiar with it.

    However, guest blogging is a good thing. If you are contributing a post on a blog THAT IS RELATED TO YOUR BLOG'S SUBJECT you are getting a good linkback.

    You don't have to join a group to do that as many blog owners are happy to have a well written post offered to them. If that service is free - and the blogs suit your blog, it might be a good idea to start with.

    It's not something you spend a lot of time on - but if you reach the point where you can contribute a blog post with your link on a high traffic blog, it's very helpful. Meanwhile, just make sure you contribute on worthwhile blogs or it is a waste of time.

    You aren't offering a particular product on your blog that I see - so you aren't inviting competitors, just guests. That will be how other blog owners see it, too.

    Well, you can also get a lot of targeted traffic by guest blogging, so really there is more than just the benefit of a backlink.

    If you are in a position where you have limited funds for generating traffic, I would say give it a shot! I have had some great success with guest blogging!

    Why writing for others? Write articles on your topic and submit them to ezinearticles or in article directories. This will bring 100 percent more quality traffic and thousands of backlinks also.

    This wont cost you anything. Just your time and intelligence.

        I totally agree with you. But I think he is totally new.I supposed that he not even know about article directories for free traffic or back links. and how much will it be easy to do guest blogging for a totally new marketer?

          There are also many social networking sites where you can post your own articles. Each article you post to a site outside your own is another backlink. And yes, even guest posting is great. It's your article with your backlinks in the article, so don't think of it as writing for someone else because that someone else is providing you a place to post your article.
