How to find full-time article writing jobs?

Hey.

I am a University student and have 3 months Summer break now from University and besides working on my own Internet marketing projects I would like to work full-time for other people.

However, since I am English and have a large amount of experience in Internet marketing. I am looking for article writing work but refuse to work for less than $2.50 per 100 words.

Where would the best places to either advertise my services or find clients for my services be? People who would be willing to pay at least $2.50 per 100 words if not more.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Will.

Put together a great writing sample and try for a 5 Star rating here:

    Unique content - Textbroker.com

If you get graded as a 5 star, which is the highest, then you'll be close to what you're looking for per word. It's steady work there and you can keep busy. They'll pay directly to your Paypal account and are totally reliable.

But definitely put a lot of effort making that initial writing sample top shelf.

Otherwise, start a Warriors For Hire thread and let your talent speak for itself...you should be able to get that price in most cases.

Start by writing excellent copy part-time a build a reputation. The writers I find that are good always do more than I expected, and have me wanting more from them. They don't just slap together some copy and collect their paycheck. To me a true article writer is more like a news reporter.

Eventually, I see some people looking for full-time writers on some freelance sites. However, I hardly see somebody willing to pay $2.50 per 100 words in this situation. Of course, I don't know your writing skills and they probably are worth it, but it can become too expensive if you are working full-time for the person/company.

Thanks dude, I will check it out now. It sounds like a great site, especially if they will pay straight through to my Paypal account.

Do you know what the maximum they are able to pay per 100 words is?

      Thanks again.

      Very wise!

It's all about the markets in which one chooses to compete. The reality is simply that one competes in the markets in which one chooses to compete. And those depend simply on one's marketing skills as a writer, promoting one's own services.

Many people with genuinely valuable writing skills start off with very low-paid projects, thinking that this will help them to move on to higher-paid projects. It usually doesn't, at all. It's really important, I think, to avoid at the outset the mistake of imagining that it's sensible to "start off by writing for low prices" with a view to raising your prices after clients have seen what you can produce. When writing for online markets, it simply doesn't work that way: when you write for low prices you attract clients whose primary motivation is to pay low prices, and you lose almost all of them when you increase prices later.

You might find some/all of these resources helpful:-

      Jennifer Mattern's blog

      Carol Tice's blog

Freelance writing jobs (minmum payment requirement of $50 per article to be listed there)

Free report on how to attract new freelance writing clients during a recession

      The Renegade Writer Blog

      The "Irreverent Freelancer" blog

Many affiliate marketers here, in my experience, thinking of article marketing as "a way to bring in quick sales", sometimes look askance at higher prices. But those thinking in terms of "building a real business", and specifically in terms of ensuring gradual, widespread re-publication of their work in front of targeted audiences, so that others are effectively doing some of their off-page SEO for them, do understand the potential value of better quality work. (I strongly suspect that the reason one doesn't see such services widely advertised is that the people providing them are fully booked up with returning clients, and not really looking for new ones.) There's well paid work about.
Hey Alexa, thanks for the reply. You always speak words of wisdom

I have just arrived back from China that's why I haven't been online much =D

I shall check out those resources you mentioned, thank you for those.

  • One thing to watch is that, as you're British, the sites are still willing to pay you. That isn't as common as you might think.

You might also find that the jobs are out there, but after the time you've spent searching for them, you'd actually have been more profitable working for a lower per 100 word rate and getting more work out of it.

    Two more strategies:
    - you can get paid more writing longer reports than you can by writing individual articles, even if the total word count is the same. That's because people will pay for good continuity within a report. It's also easier to find a single client for a longer report, than it is to find multiple clients for articles.
    - rather than sitting idle, there's still a good market for premium quality PLR packs - that is low distribution and on hot topics. Although each individual article is sold for less, because you're selling them multiple times, you can exceed your $2.50 per 100 words total.

    Hope that might be useful,
    Thom
