Question about youtube advertising

Hi,

Question to those who have done youtube advertising, i.e., specifically finding a video that is doing well that is related to a product or service you sell, and purchasing a link/advertising to your site there?

What kind of success have you seen, & how many people have you contacted?

I thought I would try it and see how it panned out, and I've contacted probably about 50 people (100% related to the product/service), yet... I've gotten 1 yes (which unfortunately turned out the video was copyrighted, so couldn't use), 2 maybes (which haven't heard back from a few days), and that seems to be about it... I.e., I'm actually offering to pay for advertising immediately, etc... yet the response rate hasn't been quite what I would expect.

Did you have better success with it? And/or what did you do to increase your response rate?

Thanks!

- J

It used to work well a few years ago, but not so much these days. I quit doing it in the end and focus on turning my own videos into traffic powerhouses.

Ah, I see thanks Louise. By 'not working well' -- do you mean actually getting people to sign up/willing to offer a link for cash? Or that the conversions from viewing a video to visiting product sales page, etc is not as good?

      Thanks,

Finding people who will accept the amount of money I was willing to pay became difficult, it turned out to be less time consuming / less fustration uploading my own videos that (eventually) pack the same punch.

Ok, how much were you offering? (Just to make sure I am in the right ballpark).

      Thanks!

Here's a tip, check out everybody favorite site right now, Fiverr.com, there are several people who will put a link to your site on their YouTube video, and most of the videos have a ton of views and still growing.

Not sure about your niche but if you just want to try it out for $5, might be worth it.

Also, don't forget about LMC's thread about his success advertising on a YouTube video: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...sted-50-a.html
