Nice Trick to Potentially Get LOTS OF Traffic From Amazon...

Hey everyone,

This is my first post on this forum, actually I heard about it around a year ago, but started to actively read it 2 days ago And I've discovered what I've been missing during all those months... Anyway.

Since I'm new I'm gonna tell you quickly who I am. Well I'm a 19 year old school dropout kid from France, currently living full time from cpa marketing on facebook.

I was recently browsing Amazon a few days ago when something struck me.

Look at this: (oops I can't post links or pics yet. So I'll explain without it)

Okay. So the gist of it is that you can include a link in your amazon profile.

I've just seen an example of someone doing it for best selling marketing books, and she was (in occurence) promoting marketing related content on her website...

I know it's nothing new, but I believe me it's not something to ignore. Just imagine how it would be to write an ultradetailed review on "hot" products, whether it's Twilight's last book, Avatar DVD, or any new bestseller...

Honnestly, I think there's a lot of potential in this, especially when you see how much traffic gets amazon. Over 67 Million uniques a month.

Now obviously, in order for a lot of people to see your site you'd need to have your review listed on the first page, but it would if you spent the time to write an excellent one. In the end it's kharma. You get what you receive.

Luck plays its role, but if you really spend the time to do it, thinking of helping people in an honnest way to make their decision, then it will pay back, I'm sure of it.

You can even outsource the whole thing to write reviews for all the upcoming products.

I'm sure someone will eventually turn this into a WSO lol... I'm fine with it (I'm already making great money with other projects...)

So I repeat, here's what you can do (I haven't done it yet)

Step 1. Find the hottest new products, for this go to amazon and then click on "Shop All Departmens" and click on each individual section, you'll find the highest selling products in the moment displayed. Pretty neat

Step 2. If this isn't already done, include the link of your website in your profile name. Now you can only use one website per profile, cause the space isn't long enough to put several I believe. But what you can do... Is to include a budurl.com link, or bit.ly, where you can change the redirect. For example, let's say that right now you redirect it to johnsmith.com, and then you realise that johnsmith isn't good. So you login to your budurl or bitly account and change the destination url that your bitly links points you towards. That way you can manage what you want your visitors to see depending on the context.

Step 3: Write a high quality review for a product. Now, the cool thing if you do this for a lot of products is that you don't need to have bought the product to do it. However, it will show off if you haven't read it. You can outsource this. Or find forums that talk about it, and pay someone to write it for you. Let's say he (or she) is a Twilight fanatic, you search google for Twillight related forums, and then you see some posts made by some members (there are always some long detailed posts), that way you see the potential members you can contact to later maybe end up writing a review for you.
Takes time? Not really. But yes if you do it everytime and you plan to write 100 reviews a day to blast your link in amazon, then yes it does take time.
Anyway, writing so much reviews will raise Amazon's flag, so keep it safe.

Plus, I prefer quality over quantity. Instead of writing reviews on every single product imaginable, find the amazon top 10 list, and spend some good time writing beyond amazing reviews. That way you'll "maybe" get a chance to be on the first page, and even if you don't, since it's a hot product, there's some good chance that your review will be read anyway.

tips: if you write a review about a video game, then a good idea would be to iframe a cpa offer related on free video games on your website.

If you write a review about a dvd movie, then put a netflix cpa offer on your website.

ETC. Now you kinda see the flaw, which is, how in the world am I gonna have all those different websites if I'm only allowed to put one website on my profile? I mean, bitly and budurl are great, but limited...

You hit the nail on the head.

What you'd need, is to create several amazon accounts.

WARNING: I said to include your link into your profile, as your website. Not into your description. If you do so I don't know what can happen but not so good things...

Step 3. Rinse and repeat.

PS: I haven't tried this method personally, but I believe it can lead to great results. And yes, it's not perfect, but I believe it could be great if members applying it could report their results here. And then, maybe we could be onto something.

Cheers,

Peace and Love

Well I'd love to but when I do I get this:

To be able to post links or images your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 1 posts.
    Sorry bout that

Have tried writing reviews for Amazon products. However, I noticed that at different times of the day, an orange (general) Amazon ad is shown instead of the specific product ad I posted is seen . For example, I made a review on canon camera. After posting I click on the link to check and indeed the canon camera ad is posted. But if I go back to check it again after several hours of posting it, this specific product ad is gone and is replaced by the orange (general) Amazon ad. This makes me wonder if I'm still making money if the general Amazon ad is shown.

Hey Mark. Well, of course while the ad is shown, if this hides your website then amazon readers will probably not see it and hence not visit it. But it happens only a few times in a day, leaving your website in full exposure, if again, you managed to get your review on first page.

There is a lot of ways to get traffic from amazon -

Upload watermarked images of amazon products - make sure you took the picture and its watermarked with your website name.

Make a video review of the product - if you have a youtube channel, just upload the same video you uploaded to youtube.

And of course the great review part - and hope that someone clicks your name and goes to your profile.

Personally, I like the video review. Since I do video reviews on youtube, I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Make 1 video, upload it to youtube, then turn around and upload it to amazon.

Are there any length constraints or content constraints on loading videos to Amazon? Could you post a link to one of your review videos there?

    TIA

Here is one of them - amazon.com/review/R14656FA30C2HK/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm

Now that you bring it up, I'am kinda behind on my review videos. I have been uploading to youtube, but have neglected amazon, guess I'am going to have to fix that tonight.

I remember uploading a couple of videos to amazon, but that is the only one I can find right now. I thought I had uploaded 3 or 4 videos to amazon, but can only find 1 of them.

    Thanks for the example kev,

never thought of doing videos btw (didn't know it was even possible to post videos on amazon). That's a good thing.

You do some camping? Man I love to do that stuff. I don't do this that often anymore but it's just so refreshing to cut out from the internet for a few weeks and just live in the woods. I'm gonna do it more often now that I can afford it lol.

Reminds me of "into the wild"

The videos are limited to 100 megs, and 10 minutes,,, or something like that.

Last time I checked, you can not post a video review and a text review - its one or the other. Since I have been posting a lot of text reviews, I can not post a video review of the same item.

Meghan, I appreciate where you are coming from, but I have a little different take on things. Doesn't necessarily make me right, but it's another way to look at things...

Actually, I give the OP credit for coming clean and admitting up front that he hasn't tried the method himself. You wouldn't believe how many wannabe gurus come charging in with all guns blazing, and turn out to be firing blanks.

In addition, if he's making a living from CPA offers, he has to know something about driving traffic. So at this point, his post is basically floating an idea for brainstorming and additional information. He never claimed it was a tried and true method.

I can see holes in the plan, but the idea actually has promise on some scale. And possibly could be extended to other platforms that offer user reviews...

      Ouch... that poor guy!

I have to think that if this was the kind of reception I received for my first post, I probably wouldn't have made a second one.

Just because something hasn't been tested, it's not necessarily a waste of time. One idea leads to another, and as more people contribute to the thread it becomes ever better. Not that the OP's original idea wasn't valid; I see some potential there.

When browsing through the posts on the forums and seeing the community spirit here, even newbies feel the urge to contribute where they can. I applaud that, and don't consider it a waste of my time.

Lol, Chillout . Yes I haven't tried the method personally, but if you read my thread title it was written "Nice Trick to Potentially Get LOTS OF Traffic..."

And yes as John and Rob said, this is the kind of thread that leads to a sort of brainstorming. And noticing something that can help people although I haven't tried it myself doesn't mean it's not valuable information! Selling it as a WSO would. But I'm not.

Plus, regarding my IM experience, rest assured I'm fine. Yes, it's my first post here, so what? I could be Bill Gates, you wouldn't know it. It doesn't mean sh***.

Actually, as useless as your post looks, it still has some interest. Your point was worthwhile, in saying that you shouldn't waste the time of people if you were a newbie. I kinda agree with you on this.

Now, a trait I have is I don't like to have people waste my time or waste people's. So I never open my mouth unless what I have to say is I believe of importance, or that can bring the value to other people.

And it was the case here.

      Peace

      Oce@n.

I'm not saying she was right or you were wrong, although you did border on rudeness. Not my call to make. I was just trying to prevent what was shaping up to be a piling on...one that I may have started by calling her out in the first place.

I think the OP has a generous spirit and just cant wait to contribute something they know to give back.... I've been that. I think that Meghan was having an off critical day and shouldnt be judged for it... maybe she just bought an ebook from such a newbie with no experience and was disapointed. We all have those days, and unfortunately sometimes we start typing in the warrior forum on them... I've had my share, so have the wagenheims, and the ex rats, and everyone... being a warrior is a lifelong journey... get used to seeing peoples less becoming side from time to time and still love them.

Yeah kadesnga, you're right. I think she probably had a bad day or something, which we all do sometimes.
@SpudDS, I agree with you. One year is enough to get around a forum, but hey... Some people don't adapt.
@JohnMcCabe, I think too. Personally, Meghan, I'm not upset at you. Well, I won't hide the fact that your comment did make me boil for a few seconds, but hey, I forgive you.

Everything's just fine. I think the lesson to be drawned from it is to never act that way with newbies. I say newbies, but I am a newbie myself if you look at the number of posts I've made so far. Cause you never really know who you're dealing with. Of course someone who has 3,000 posts and is a member since 2002 is more likely to be someone you can trust, I won't hide that fact. But point is, everyone starts their journey somewhere. I've just started my warrior forum journey, just like other top marketers did before me. And that doesn't mean I don't know jack about marketing, far from it. It's as if you were a popular kid in a high school of Chicago, and never moved of this school. Then you move to New York, and yes, you're a newbie suddenly. Nobody knows you. I've been a respected member of other marketing forums before, and yes suddenly I'm a newbie here. That's okay, that's part of the game and I accept it. But just show some respect cause I'll repeat you never really know who you're dealing with. And I say that with total conviction cause if you did know the type of stuff I was currently involved at the moment, I think you'll just quiet it down.

To MandoThrasher and the one who PMed me (I'll answer you soon on your yahoo don't worry), well I will give you some tips about what I currently do on facebook. The first one I can give you right now is to use cpalead surveys on facebook fanpages, cause that's where I make 70 to 80% of my income.

I've been a member since 2000 but you wouldnt know that from reading my stats.

The first thing I ever read by Allen was an article about "White space"... really helped me alot... and "Bum Marketing" was a new catch phrase back then... my fave warrior was a guy who went by named Mr. Unconventional at that time I read every post he wrote... the warriors have been such an inspiration through the years... this is a good place to learn.

There are alot of great warriors...Today (it changes from time to time) the guy that inspires me the most is probably George Wright, he has alot of practical wisdom.

How rude lolll. Anyway, let's skip straight to the point:

thanks oce@n for the free tip, this may worth some investigating. In fact, you just made me remember: I bought a Kodak Zi8 pocket video camera two weeks ago, and sure I notice the video review at the end of the page, but then it slip off my mind. If you want to see a good example of a "successful" video review on Amazon, take a look at the page:

(can't post links yet, search for "Kodak Zi8" on amazon .com )

That review had 346 of 357 positive feedbacks in just 7-8 months. I just check the reviewer profile, and sure enough the guy have a backlink to is personal related website lol! Not only that, he is still very active. Looks like it may worth something

P.S. Bonjour à mes chers cousins français!

yes i too think that it's something worth investigating... I mean sure you can spend a lot of time writing a review that'll lead to nothing, but hey... First it's free traffic, second it's one one of the biggest traffic sites of the web. I'm sure someone can find a system to write high quality reviews on demand, so that whether or not your reviews get on the first page, you'll not have spent your whole life writing it...
