Hello! I am in the middle of getting my web site up and running today and I had a question.

How do I take away the column on the right just on my home page? Is that even possible?

Here is what I want to take away from my home page only.....

TechSmith | Screencast.com, online video sharing, Webpage

Thanks for your help!

Are you working on Wordpress or are you using html?

If this is on Wordpress, then you are going to need to edit one of the files.

On an html website, you will need to take out the code.

What is your actual website? I might be able to help if I can see what you're working with.

Do NOT edit the main template (aka index)! That template is used in million places in WP where you have no idea it is in use... So, don't listen to that advice!

Rather make an existing Page as your frontpage (see in Settings > Reading) and use for that Page a special Page template: in a WP theme you can have unlimited number of Page templates.
What is the name of that theme? Where did you download from?

      Wordpress makes me puke.

Having said that and I'm not an expert and don't want to be.

Try clicking on the 'Appearence' link on the left hand menu. Then locate 'Widgets' and have a look at the right hand side. You should be able to disable stuff from there. If not, play around on the left - you'll probably find something.

If all else fails, take the man's route and code using HTML :p

      Best of luck,
      Jeff.

I edit my pages all the time. It's no problem if you know how to do it.

That's why I asked for the website.

If it's WordPress (which would be a smart choice) It's probably in the widget section in your admin panel.

You should be able to remove it from there, depending on the theme.

If you install the Atahualpa theme then you don't need to fiddle with the coding - there is place in the theme options for excluding the sidebar from specific pages.
