Could someone explain the concept of backlinks & Firefox SearchStatus to promote Clickbank product?

Hi all, I was just reading another post on here where the poster James H outlined hi Clickbank marketing strategy. He said he types in keywords into Google and then clicks on all the links on the first page and then finds out the backlinks using Firefox SearchStatus add-on.

I installed SearchStatus to my browser and have done this using keywords in my niche.

But why does this work? I don't understand the concept, sorry to sound stupid but can someone explain it more fully?

So the idea is to promote my website and clickbank hoplinks in the backlinks basically? This definitely works?

    The objective of finding the backlinks to all of your competitors is so that you can spy out their backlinks and then duplicate them.

    It's called Reverse Engineering.

    It works when you...

    (a). Parse their backlinks

    (b). Categorize links by PR and decide which ones you are going to use and the ones you are going to flush

    (c). Analyze the patterns of their anchor texts. This is important, especially in highly competitive niches. You are essentially engaging in mimicking their On Page SEO and then turning it up just a notch.

        Yes, a lot of 'technical talk'...I get the gist, but still don't fully understand why it works and exactly how to go about it!

        So should I just post comments/links etc in every backlink and hope it drives traffic to my site/hoplinks?

          If you are confused, dig in and learn Off Page SEO and On Page SEO... confusion over!

          Check!

          The why it works is easy.

          (a). You find your competitor's backlinks using Quirk or other software application

          (b). You now create [duplicate] said backlinks to your site

          (c). You add additional BLs to your site to compliment the backlinks you grabbed from your competitors sites

          (d). By doing so, you effectively out BLed them

          That statement says this... you need to slow down a hot minute and learn what blog commenting is and what backlinking is.

          Depending on the site providing the BL, you either use keyword anchored text or your name/pen name.

    SEOQuake is what I use

    Simply Google search what you want, and then click the tiny question mark next to the yahoo links icon and it will show all the back links
