Hello Warriors,

My name is Ray and I'm an online marketer. I work as the Marketing Director for a company called Stylelife, run by a famous author and pick-up artist named Neil Strauss.

I'm a completely self-taught marketer and I'm here to learn more of my craft and network with like-minded individuals.

I look forward to reading all of your threads and learning many new things.

Cheers!

      Welcome
I know for a fact that Neil was taught by Frank Kern in the early days of his business. I recommend you chat up Neil about internet marketing as much as possible. The man is not a dummy and is keeping up pretty well with the big companies like Venusian Arts, RSD, Love Systems and Double your dating .

Welcome to the Warrior Forum Ray,

You are certainly not a Noob in online marketing - I'm sure your experience will be well sought after in here.

I admire that you still consider there is more to learn even with your background.

Hey thanks for all the feedback on my intro thread!

I got a bit busy and completely spaced out about this thread. I guess I'm s used to lurking around here as opposed to actually contributing.

@Irnes: Yes Neil was indeed trained by Frank in the early days. I've met Frank a few times and he is super cool and laid back.

@tomw and williamrs: I've got a few skills. My focuses have been product launching, email campaign creation, copywriting, and SEO. However, I'm lacking in optimization, analytics, affiliate marketing, and many other areas. I hope to fill in the gaps here and take a more active role in meeting everyone in this industry.

@leonkouts: Marketing is fascinating and I never want to stop learning it!

And thank you all for the warm welcome. I'll try to add my knowledge in wherever I can. This forum is a great place.

Pick-up artist Neil Strauss is obviously a successful salesman. What good advice can he give to us for selling to people we communicate with by email and website, but never see?

Well, I'll tell you some of what I've learned from communicating with our huge email list and from selling on our website:

      1. As far as email promos go, everyone loves a storyline. Email out a link to a new product sales page and some sales will occur for us. But wrap that product launch in a compelling story, one with conflict, protagonists, antagonists, rising action, and a little resolution, etc. and sales will go through the roof. The better the story the better the sales. And it's best if that story is rooted in truth.

      2. Give 'em a root. When I started to learn pick-up I learned that you needed to root the reason why you were approaching a woman because it's a natural question in a woman's mind when she's approached and if you don't answer it then it's always there looming. The same for buyers give them a reason why there's a promo.

      3. Qualify the buyer more thru commitment and consistency and you have an engine that will sell better. Get people to email in, get people to vote, get people involved, and they feel like they belong to a community and everyone wants to belong. Break down the walls and get them in the story. On our website there's a sales funnel I call the Analysis Funnel which quizzes men on their past with women and where they want to be at the end of the analysis they are offered a product, it does a good portion of our website sales for us, you can view it at stylelife (I can't post links yet but just search that term in Google) if you like.

      4. Give to your perspective buyers good content and they will pay attention to your emails. Don't be afraid to give out e-books, videos, and articles. But giving to your email list keeps them interested in your emails and if the content is good then gets them wanting more. It also invokes Robert Cialdini's rule of reciprocity.

      5. Be the buyer. Try as best you can to put yourself in the mind of your ideal buyer. Consider his anxieties in buying your product: "Will my credit card info be safe? Can I return this? Is this product guaranteed to work? Am I making the right decision? Etc." Try and remove those anxieties for your ideal buyer and he will be more likely to buy your product.

Those are a few of the things that come to mind immediately. Two of the books that Neil had me read when I first became his Marketing Director were: Hopkins' "My Life in Advertising and Scientific Advertising" & Cialdini's "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion." I found them to be useful tools and great reads.

I hope that answers your question

      Cheers!

Neil Strauss! I've read The Game, and even though I wouldn't really use those techniques myself, I would say it was well written. Anyway, since you're here on Warrior forum, you should find plenty of like minded people to network with and learn from. All the best
