WordPress Worry After Update

I updated to the latest version of WP, and when I press a Category, they no longer link with the posts. I get a message saying:

The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

I wondered if anyone else had had this problem? I have found others with the same problem on WP Support Forums, but no replies that have worked yet.

Wish I had never upgraded now, as i'm just building up this site, and the theme works well. Hope it's not that.

Any ideas?
Many thanks

Do you have a re-direct plugin installed?

If not, it might be your htaccess file trying to rewrite your urls?

What happens when you use other browsers?

How do you have your pages linked? /postname/ or /date/postname/ ?

Just tried Internet Explorer, and the whole page is distorted. What could this mean?

Run the page through an HTML validator and see what happens.

Keep in mind - some validator pages show errors when none exist, so take the results with a grain of salt.

    Yes! It was my permalinks.

I was using %category%/%postname% and it simply didn't work anymore after the upgrade.

My solution: I kept using %category%/%postname% but I added a category base of "go".

The error message quoted by the OP is not a "WP error" - it is a FireFox-specific message. You can get it on any website using any kind of CMS.

It can be caused by cookies(or the lack of them); by faulty code etc.

It appears quite often after WP upgrades: resetting permalinks usually helps.
