Internet Marketing Or Internet Madness : I feel like giving up

I did not start this topic because I want to give up even though I feel like giving up but I am not going to give up just yet. I started this just to get some encouragement from the successful warriors. I know it is call internet marketing and people are really making it on the internet. But why is it that I am not making it. It sounds to me as internet madness rather than internet marketing. I have stayed here on the forum for at least ( and I mean at least) 6 hours every day for the past 2 weeks.

I have read alot and implemented all what I have read. Some of the things I have read and done are :

Create a blog and post regularly, I created a wordpress blog and made 40 new posts in 1 and half month.
write articles and submit to directories. I wrote articles (24 articles with relatively low keyword competition post on EZA, Goarticles and Articledashboard.
Build squidoo lens ( have 4 Lens so far 2 indexed in 2 days the other 2 not yet indexed even after 4 days, done all the pinging, submitting to social sites and also tried to get them indexed by using them in my answers on the yahoo answers comunity without sucess - I am top comtributor on answers with lot of best answers).

I own my own football forum which I was finding interesting before it went offline cos I don't have the money to increase my disk space.

what more do I need to do. Yeah I don't have a landing page but thats due to the fact that I am from Nigerian and as you all know we are all regarded as scammers ( I am not and I am sure not all of us are) who are not allowed to use paypal and most merchants run from us.

I am really frustrated, I need some one to encourage me, show me why I should continue. See my lens in my sig, let me know what I am doing wrong.

    Hi yommys

I'm no expert but I have had enough success lately to kick on to bigger and better.

I've looked at a couple of your sites and the squidoo lens that you point to could do with cleaning up a bit eg the module headings.

You could also break up the text with some clickable graphics across your sites.

Your writing could also do with a look as well, just odd typos. And I'm finding personally that readers don't want to read a whole lot of text and they want it presented to them in bite size pieces that they can scan very quickly.

I also think you have to give it much more time to judge a campaign.

You're looking good, just carry on and change a few things up to see what works.

    Good luck

How do people know you are from Nigeria. The one good thing about the Internet is that you can be living anywhere. Its only if and when you tell people that your place of origin comes out.

Paypal is not the only form of payment. Have you tried e-gold, 2checkout and E-junkie. I don't know what you are selling but there must be a way around it somewhere.

Usually it is advisable to get a landing page if you want to build a list. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your lens but it may be the subject. You need to promote things that people want to buy. Check out my newest web site in my sig and see how that is.

Also get you own products. Willie Crawford is from South Africa and he can teach you heaps. He put up a page for chicken recipes. Look at what he has accomplished.

Where you live should not be a reason to give up but I think you might be trying to do too much to soon. It takes a long time to learn all about IM. The folks in here are all willing to help and support so certainly don't give up.

If money is a problem there are a lot of free hosting companies out there. Google for them and see what comes up. Also your iSP may supply one with your service.

Keep up informed how you are going.

    God bless

Hang in there yommies. I'm pretty new myself, and its a slow process. Don't be discouraged by the people that claim they are making thousands - there's more to that story. For example, they say they made $10,000 in one day. What they don't mention is how much they spent in marketing and preparation. Their net income is likely significantly less than whatever figure they are claiming.

whats wrong with your soccer blog?

I think that by itself has a good potential.

You seem to have a good PR on that blog and site. Let me know if you need help fixing it.

I fun a couple of football/soccer blogs myself and they make a bit of money with adsense every day

Its clear you are putting forth the effort, but think of your business in the long term. 6 hours per day is an awful lot. I would be frustrated too. Do the same things consistently, every week. Set up a plan that fits your schedule. For example, I travel so I can only put in about 2 hours per day. I have a routine that I follow, which works out well.

Don't overload yourself - this is a journey, not a sprint.

      hello,

I just took a look at your blog and Squidoo page.

You can tell that you are really putting in the work that it takes. There are a few things that stood out to me though.

First, you are not building a list. You can get a free autoresponder at GetResponse and then upgrade to a Pro account when you start making money.

That is the very first thing I would suggest you start working on.

Also, you are not building links to your blog. You are building links to the merchants site.

Now, if you are looking for long-term success I would suggest that you change that a little bit.

Point the links from your Squidoo page to your actual blog.

That will help you rank higher in the search engines and ultimately start making more money.

The list building will help you also to make more money. You need to have a way to follow up with your visitors.

As of right now your visitors are coming and just leaving.

As you've stated they are not even buying. So, wouldn't you like the ability to actually follow up with them and try to sell them again and again.

That is why it is so essential to build a list. Your business is really lost without it. It will become an uphill struggle and you'll start to get even more frustrated than you are now.

So, at first glance those are the two things I would say you need to work on.

I do not have time to actually look over the site's more detailed, but I think those two tips will really help you out.

      Regards,

      Shannon

Check out my blog and look how focused it is on building a list. That is my main objective with the blog. And guess what, that blog actually makes money. Making Money on the Internet - Internet Marketing Strategies

Don't make internet marketing complicated. There are a lot of people who do this. It's not really difficult to be successful.

This is how simple it can get...

Find out what most people are frustrated about and have problems with.

Unless you already know the answer, do some research on the internet for solutions to their problem.

Create an info product showing the answers you found or already know.

Write up a short sales letter with payment button.

Then promote it. Write articles with a link back to your site. Post to forums with a link in your signature. Make it a warrior special offer to get it launched and to get a few testimonials to help sell it to the public.

Have a look at Jason Fladlien. He's a very successful young marketer. You can find him on this forum or do a web search.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards Ian

Frankly, I don't understand how you can be so frustrated after only two weeks (although another part of your post indicates a month and a half). Even if you've been working 2 full months that's nothing!

It took me 6 months to make my first sale and I worked almost as hard as you. Speaking of working hard, you've accomplished a helluva lot in a short time. Keep that up, follow the suggestions from others and your rewards will come.

But stay frustrated and throw your hands up and it will all be for nothing. Contrary to the way it seems on the WF with all the "I made $11,444 in 24 hours!" most people really do have to work long and hard for success.

      Hi,

It does take time to start making money at this game but it does work.

One thing struck me when reading your post. You spend 6 hours on this forum each day?

Do you count that 6 hours as time spent working or researching?

I used to make the same mistake - spending hours on forums researching great ideas.

That 6 hours would be better spent maybe starting another niche site? Not all niches are profitable - no matter how passionate you are about them. Following the money is sometimes necessary.

Let me know if you need a niche :-)

      Cheers

      Niall

My two comments after visiting the blogs:

    1. Patience (you need to give these more time to develop). It takes a while to get out of the Google "sandbox." 3 months minimum is a good rule of thumb.

    2. Work on better writing skills (english, grammar, typos, etc). Mistakes in the titles or opening sentences will stop readers immediately, sometimes even on the search description page.

Keep working and refining your technique. It takes time.

Thanks to every one who posted, I am finding it hard but I am not ready to give up just yet. I made my first sale last week but the second has been hiding somewhere.

I don't know but most of my articles are not getting indexed or views. I have writing and submitted 21 articles in the pass 2 week 5 of them have been accepted while some where not accepted because it is linked to my uncompleted squeeze page.

The ones accepted where pointed to my squidoo page. They have got 158 views in 2 days and 14 url clicks. My question is:

why are the articles not getting views even when they have all been indexed by google. what should I do.

here is my auto url http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kingsley_Aje
