Google Analytics slowing forum down. Can I turn it off?

I read somewhere that we could, as a user, opt out of Google analytics. I may just sound like a crazy person for saying that.

I assure you, I am crazy.

This forum is loading really slow for me because of Google analytics.

Any suggestions?

      What's really funny about this is Google is now
      penalizing sites in the rankings if they load slow.

      Every site that I go to that loads slow has
      Google Analytics!

      You can watch it in the lower left tool bar on
      your browser.

    I see many sites that are still loading with 'waiting for google analytics..." in the task bar - really annoying.

      Yeah, I was using firefox and that is what I saw. lol

      I changed over to Chrome and so far so good.

        Firefox was the problem..
