How to Setup the "Ebook for Newsletter Signup" Technique

Hi,
I'd like to implement the process whereby I offer a free eBook to someone after they signup for the newsletter. I know how to do this manually (once they subscribe I email a link to the ebook) but does someone know of an automated system that can handle this type of thing? Currently I'm using MailChimp.

Thanks in advance.

aweber.com or a few others similar manage all that for most online marketers. You have to make a squeeze page or have the name capture on your blog or website, make a webpage for the thank you and download.

there is a link to a free ebook about that in my signature below

I had the same issue with mailchimp. I got around it by uploading the ebook to filefront and including the link in the subscription confirmed page.

You can also send them to a page when they opt in that has the DL link in it.

See my post. Include the download link (by uploading it to a third party) in either the confirm email they receive, the thank you page or the subscription confirmed page.

Do you use an active landing page for the ebook? Is that overkill? Or should it be basically where you:

          1) make the offer somewhere on the landing page (e.g my site is articles so I'd put the offer in my sidebar so it'd be on every page)?

          2) and then do as you say in the confirm email?

Or do I need one of these fancy dedicated landing pages -- which I'm not sure how to implement since most of my traffic is from google searches and each landing page is the article the person is reading (hence the idea to put the link in the sidebar).

          Thank for your continued help.
