Facebook is watching YOU...
(tin foil hats not required, but almost...)
I've been searching Google for stuff, as we all do.
Then a day or so later, I log into my Facebook account and then an Ad pops up on the right, directly related to what I was searching for recently on Google.
I'm not sure about you, but this worries me. I want to know how they are doing this. I feel like I'm being watched.
Yes ok, I know we are ALL being watched online... and tracked, and cookied, and tagged, and signed up... and split tested...
... but this I feel pushes it too far.
It's one thing searching in Facebook for content and then seeing relevant ads, but when you're searching on Google for content and Facebook is taking notes on your machine, so they can show you ads?
That's not something I want to be part of.
What do you think? Any ideas how they are doing this?
How do you feel about it? How do you stop it?
