Opt-In On Your Sales Page...I don't Quite Understand This

I have decided to go down this route for many reasons and now feel like I have hit a brick wall....,

If a visitor subscribes and then also makes a purchase, will they really want to be on my list where I am selling the same ABC product that they have just purchased? They are then going to receive emails from me for next week or so selling them something they have already bought?? Could that annoy people? (I am forgetting at this point that I could promote other products to them in the future...)

Also, I was also thinking of using a similar concept as the 4 day cash machine making a series of emails with special offers now and again and if someone has already bought my product and receives these emails at a later date, would this also be annoying?

Any feedback or comments would really be appreciated.
Thanks

This all depends on how your autorepsonder works. Often you can pop the person over to another list for follow up if they do buy, and upsell to or cross sell to later but realistically it is very difficult to sell to a first time visitor as you have not built trust with them yet. That is where the list comes in.

You make a seprate buyers list and seperate optin list and when you mail out for tha tproduct you exclude the buyers list from both lists (aweber, icontact etc will do this)

    Here is what I do.

I have a leads list and a customer list. Subscribers opt into the leads list. On my download page, when someone buys, they get asked to be added to my customer list. If that happens, then a weber automation tools are used to automatically take them off the leads list.

    Easy.

I have one extra step not explained here and you can just watch a video I made on this if you want. See sig file for click bank conversion. Concept applies to any ecommerce business with auto responder use.

What would one write on the download page to get someone to Opt-In to your customer list, I guess we would need to write down a reason for them to do this?

I am now thinking of a situation where someone has Opt-in to my free ebook at the top of my sales page and then then are being asked for their details again if they also purchase on the download page, would this be abit repetitive on top oof all the usual order form stuff?

thanks again if anyone can help me to get to grips with this.

  • You need multiple lists, otherwise it's near impossible to track who has purchased which product.

What I do in a situation like that is put together two different e-mails.

One version goes out to all the people who haven't purchased.

One goes to all the people who have purchased (this might be a different offer, a link to my blog, a request for testimonials etc).

It's pretty straightforward to do, all it takes a few minutes to set up a new list for each product (or multiple lists if you're including a prospect and buyer version).

I tell people to opt in for free updates and unannounced bonuses. I have the form pre-populated with their name and email. This is easy to do if you know how to deal with variables using basic php code. People can do this for you cheaply.

You can get them on another list after they purchase. That's of course if you have your own product. As an affiliate, when you're not handling the payment, it's best to offer an additional bonus for those who buy the product. Make them send you their recipient number after they purchase and send them to another squeezepage to make them opt-in for their bonus. This way you will seperate costumers from prospects and you will convey a different message to each list.

It's a good idea to put that person over to a "buyers" list after they have purchased something from you. This way, they don't get bombarded with emails to buy product xyz when they just bought it.

Instead they are given free content, updates, and occasionally a promotional email for another product (that's where the residual $ is earned).
