I have an ebook on sale via a website and I want to put it into print with LuLu.com under a different name or even the same name.

I know the odds of anyone buying both the ebook from the website and the book from Amazon etc is extemely minimal so me thinks it is a good idea but I'm not too sure.

The aim is to sell it in both formats..

    How are you doing?

I would just give the buyer the option to purchase either version.

If they purchase the the ebook version then give them the download link.

If they purchase the book version then thats cool too. Normally I would say
give them, the option to also download the eBook version but a friend of
mine did that and 25% canceled the hard copy version after the fact.

I'm not saying this happens all the time only that this is the results of
someone I know. Therefore you may need to test the results for your self
and see how it works for your situation/product.

    Hope that Helps,
    Have a Great Day!
    Michael

    PS. Hope you're doing well!
    Long time no see.

Thanks Michael. I hadn't though of trying to get both sold at the same time. Now that I know it can be done it' time to get it formatted and launched. Hope you are well too.

@Alexa I've been hearing that too but I felt the title "lulu that ebook" to be more fun and inviting.

I'll probably choose createspace in the end..

Having used both services, IMO CreateSpace is far superior.

    Steven and/or Alexa,

Could you tell me why you feel CreateSpace is better, ie: Pros & Cons?

    Thanks,

Hi Michael. I haven't used the other services, but Createspace is really easy to use. I fillled everything out, uploaded everything and submitted it in one day. I had to make one adjustment to the cover I designed and resubmit it. It was approved and I ordered a proof copy. The copy and shipping was like $10 and I had it about 5-6 days from when I started.

All I'd have to do is approve it and it would go up for sale on Amazon and other places. Unfortunately in the proofing I found a couple errors (my own typos) that I missed before, so I have to correct them and resubmit the PDF.

It's very inexpensive to buy copies of your book if you want to sell them from your own website. If I recall correctly, I can buy copies of my own book for something like $3.46. I'll let Amazon sell what they can, but I can make twice the profit selling it from my own website.

      Hope that helps.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

No worries Michael. I got what I needed and might as well get more use from it.

As for reasons I've heard why createspace is better there was only one and that was to do with the lower costs and higher profit margins with createspace over lulu.

Can't wait to get it onto Amazon. Google content network gonna be littered with ads about it lol.
