Sell the rights to sell your Clickbank product for 1 week at $7?

Received an unsolicited e-mail yesterday the basics of which is in the post title.

This guy wants to purchase the right to sell my clickbank product for one week at $7 on a new website he is launching. After the week it will be taken down but my product will still have a link on the site.

Says he will pay me a one off lump sum for a license do do this and wants to know my price?

What do you reckon Warriors? Hard to put a price on it because - as it is a new website, I have no idea how much traffic it will attract and what volume of sales he could potentially make for himself at $7.

I have researched this person and it is safe to say, without naming names that he is quite well known in the IM world, is reputable and probably has large lists of customers / prospects.

It could devaluate your product. it could also help with branding yourself and the pruduct. hard one.

Yes its a tough one - I dont really see a downside to it. I'm not concerned that it will be "devalued" because I know its a quality product - its a 92 page pdf + 2.5 hours of video.

The "lump sum" would be very nice and I cant really see a downside to it as it would build my list and get me free exposure on the site once the week is over. Just hard to put a price on it!

for 7$? Come on, maybe for $700! Or like Kim said, you can make 50-50% from the sales!

Well I think something like that is the point - he will pay me, lets say $700, then take all the money from the $7 sales for one week for himself.

I suspect this guy has a large list he'll market to. If you can find out how he's going to market it then you might be able to work out which route will be best, 50/50 or a lump sum up front.

Not having my own product and from what you have said about your confidence in your product I cant see one week being to detrimental and I think you should just ask for a Once off Liscence fee.Hopefully good exposure later.

The question I think you should ask is; How many would have bought form his list in the future anyway.

Also do you offer your product to affiliates if so would he not make more sending it to his list at $37 with 50% commission and still leaving it on your site, $7 just seems so low.

But again maybe just ingenius marketing from him because at $7 maybe 20% of his list will buy and depending on the size this could be a great once off payment.

Now I just need to know who it is so I can join his list.

Keep us updated if you do it will be intersting to see how you do.

I suppose this is the whole idea - at $7 it will probably convert much much better than at $37 or even $27. If 20% of 1000 subscribers buy it thats $1400 for him. At $37 with 50% commission hed have to make 75 sales from the same list to make as much

Forget about the one off fee. Set up a copy of your homepage on a subdomain or folder and make the order button go to cb product #2 and you can set it at whatever you decide - $7 - $17 or whatever and you will get your percentage of every sale. If he is big time then he probably can get orders and I think a percentage might be better than a one time fee.

I agree, set up either an extra page for your site with a lower price or make make a new vendor with the same product on clickbank and set the price lower for him, then I'm sure you'll be able to take it off/keep track of the sales and recieve the commision.

Thats assuming you don't go for the lump sum.

Am I reading this right? He wants to sell your $67 product for $7. I would say to him, are you crazy. I am not the sharpest pencil in the cup, but once you sell it for $7, you set the price. You are screwed if you think you are going to be able to sell it at any volume for $67 again.

I would really advise you to contact him regarding how many sales he feels he can make etc, he obviously might not tell the whole truth, however I feel that you stand to make far more by saying taking a 50% cut of sales rather than just having a one off fee.

I agree with Tim you don't really want 1000's of potential customers being offered this at such a ridiculously low price,by sticking to your own price you stand to make more in long term.

I might consider such a deal if I could set it up so I was building a list from his customers and I had plenty of other offers in the same niche

Why not have him pay the fees if any to setup a clone product in cb and you control the flow. $7 or not - you'd get access to buyers from his list which would be awesome.

Don't forget to grab a testimonial, and perhaps get invited to any launches.

The fringe benefits aside from the lump sum are going to be the big value.

Ask him to sell it at $9.95

    $7 for him
    $2.95 for you

    Win-win!

      A few questions...

Do you have related and/or backend offers linked to within your product?

After the week is up, is the link left on his site going to be an affiliate link?

How long will the link to your product be left on his site after the week is up?

Would he allow you a way to capture testimonials from the customers he generates to use in your marketing?

Would he share his sales figures with you so that you could use them in future marketing?

EDIT: Oops...just say your update about him agreeing to 50/50 split instead.
