Juggling Multiple Sites/Blogs

I bet most of you run multiple Blogs, right now I currently run around 8 sites, 3 of them Blogs, the rest websites that pretty much run themselves.
What I'd like to know is how everyone juggles multiple Blogs/sites to do with time and money etc.

It's definitely not easy! I outsource very little, so I'm usually hopping to keep up with everything. I've tried a lot of different methods for time management, but one that I've been happy with is focusing on ONE site per day - rather than trying to do a little bit on each site/blog each day, so I'm hopping from subject to subject all the time. That's quite draining, mentally.

Instead I create a week's worth of content (or more) for each site at a time, and pre-load it all to be released automatically, either on the site or via autoresponder.

It's been working very well - I feel less stressed just focusing on one site per day rather than a bunch of them.

Just one tip you may find helpful!

Thats a great idea, i've tried setting my Blogs to auto update, spending a day on each writing a few articles. I struggle to create a schedule and stick to it as most of the time I always come up with an idea for another Blog and have to write about it.

I run 1 vbulletin forum, 2 self hosted wordpress blogs and 1 video blog (my youtube account). I can only find time to update my video blog, 1 wordpress blog, and the forum. The other wordpress blog gets neglected.

The video blog takes a LOT of time. I'll go hiking, fishing, camping,,,, film the videos and spend hours editing and uploading the video. From there the video is used in the blogs and forum.

On my main blog I try to post quality content. Like last sunday I posted an article that took almost 5 hours to write. By dedicating that much time, there is nothing left over to post on the other blog.

I also have a wordpress.com account, twitter, 2 or 3 blogger blogs,,,,, but no time to post to them.

What has worked well is to create a content schedule and burn it in your calendar. For example, Sunday is a good content creation day for me. This is where I have prepared myself for about 1-2 hours to create the content for the week. For example, here's what the schedule may look like, but make it work for you:

Sunday - block out 2 hours to write 4 posts (a content filled paragraphs work great) and 2 short videos. Schedule the post publishing dates in your blog platform
Monday - One Weekly Post on Blog # 1
Tuesday - First Weekly Post on Blog #2
Wednesday - First Video For Blog #3
Thursday - Second Weekly Post For Blog # 2
Friday - Second Video For Blog # 3
Saturday - One Weekly Post On Blog #4
Sunday - Create Your Content Again

Once you get accustomed to this, content creation becomes a system and not a task. This is if you choose to create the content yourself. You can outsource of course and then just schedule when the content is published.

I have a client here in Chicago who I helped start a blog on women's fashion. She creates 4 posts for her 1 blog and then uploads. This is low maintenance for her since she just had a baby.

At the end of the day, find the schedule that works for you. If you don't schedule it, then its always a task that needs to be completed when it comes to mind, and way too often you don't keep publishing content consistently.

    Well said Alex,
I send my readers organization tools all the time because
I believe that is the first step to take.
I simply learned from my own failure to organize
and almost a year just spinning my wheels.

Why do I share all my failures with you guys?
It's like confession or church. LOL
