Suspended by Yahoo Answers!

I just got suspended by Yahoo Answers for "solicitation". No, not that kind:p. I responded to a question by a new mother that wanted to stay at home and still make a living. I suggested this forum. Yahoo Answers think that is solicitation!

A forum?

I am appealing their ignorance. Stay tuned!

Well, they see it as solicitating the membership of that person to this forum. I think?

Thanks for letting us now. I often refer to other sites, so far did't have any problems.

Good Luck with the appeal chemo30!!!.....

a couple of years ago, I got suspended. I wrote them a very nice email asking them to explain/highlight the specific violation since I was truly unaware of what I had done wrong.

They replied and simply said that I did not obey the rules.... I respondend and explained that while I have to accept the suspension, I would greatly appreciate if they could explain with some measure of detail (other than "I did not obey the rules") what I did wrong so that should I open another account, I would not repeat the offence... since I really, really had no idea what I did wrong....

.... their response was again "I violated the terms and conditions....."

This went on for about 4 emails.. and they responded the same way each time...

I got fed up and had to open a new account.

In retrospect, this is what I felt I did wrong....

To save time, I often posted the same response to very similar questions. My answers were quite good and often got "best answer", but I guess Yahoo seeing the same response many times thought it was some type of spaming....???

    I'm still not sure...

Yahoo answers suspended my account awhile back for something similar. My account was reinstated, but I was demoted from level 2 to level 1. I really do not use Yahoo answers very much, because other than the fact that one of your answers can get listed high in the search engines, I never really saw much benefit from it.

I tried Yahoo Answers to promote my articles, but at the worst, I'd just get thumbs downed.

I've had a couple accounts suspended with no explanation and no discussion about reinstatement. I lost a long-time account with a username that has been "mine" on the internet for years, plus everything in Yahoo groups and webmaster. I no longer answer questions at Yahoo.

I guess they don't want anyone diverting traffic from their site.
