Direct Linking on Google Content Network

Hey Guys,

I had a couple quick questions. First of all though, thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my questions

1. Can You Direct Link to an Affiliate offer through the Google Content Network?

2. And If you Cant do it for text ads. Can You do it for Image ads in the content network? Or will I get the Google slap for doing any direct linking whatsoever.

Does Anybody know for sure?

Thanks Guys!!!

I tried Domain forwarding, About an hour ago and was not approved I am guessing Direct linking is even worse. You may get away with it if there are no pop ups in the landing page but even then only for a short time PPC is already hard enough when you do everything Big G wants I suggest don't make it harder by trying to get around their expectations.

    My thoughts

I do direct affiliate links all the time. Google does not have a problem with direct linking. Most of the the problems come from other things:

      1) Google will only allow one ad for one domain at a time. If you are competing with multiple affiliates and sometimes with the main company, you may have problems getting your ad shown.

      2) If the company you are direct linking to has personal issues with Google (quality score, etc.), that affects you as an affiliate. You may never see any traffic for that link or you may see very limited traffic just because Google doesn't like a certain domain.

      3) If the the company you are direct linking to has a product that falls into certain categories (get rich quick, weight loss, dating...to name a few), you may find yourself filtered from advertising on certain sites on the content network and may wake up one day to find that Google has blocked that company's website and/or domain from any more advertising because it got banned.

      4) Sometimes companies have great products and terrible landing pages. When you do direct linking, you get the traffic to the landing page but without the right calls to action, it might have just cost you a click without a sale.

      5) Trustworthy affiliate programs...I've fallen into this trap many times and been shorted on sales.

I hope that answered your question and helped a little.
