Best Marketing Books Written after 2000

What "modern" marketing books do you recommend for someone who want to understand more about marketing (or expand their knowledge)?

I was hoping we might be able to make a list of good books for the online marketer.

I understand that the old marketing lessons from back in the days are very valuable, but I think it would be interresting with a list of good marketing books from this century (2000-2010).

I am primary looking for "paper" books and not eBooks. Hoping to get some good responses.

You can try The Modern Marketing Book edited by Michael J. Baker and Susan J. Hart written in detail and simple language, all about modern marketing, post modern marketing, relationship marketing, etc...
    Just a little help...

Here's an excellent new book on Bestseller lists already:

"The New Rules of Marketing & PR: How to Use Social Media, Blogs, News Releases, Online Video, and Viral Marketing to Reach Buyers Directly,"

by David Meerman Scott @ 2010

This book goes into plenty of details with real life examples of what works today, instead of past outdated (and more costly) marketing / press release strategies.

Also, not a book, but print magazine, the July / August 2010 issue of "Inc." has good content to help, like an excellent article for growing business using the phone by a pro who cold calls with wrong numbers and has success with many other ways, too.

Don't be so quick to dismiss the classics by Hopkins, Ogilvy, Caples, Schwab, Sugarman and others. They're still among the best marketing books ever written, regardless of era. And should be on everyone's "best ever" list.

There's a huge amount of largely repetitive stuff published
in the business book category - perhaps its because, while
most sectors of the book industry are shrinking, business
    books are booming.

Some books published in the last decade or so that
    impressed me are:

    "Cashvertising" Drew Eric Whitman
"No BS Marketing To The Affluent" Dan Kennedy
"Uncensored Sales Strategies" Barrows and Kennedy
"Your Attention Please" Brown and Davis

...and a special mention of a breakthrough book from
1998 - out-of-print and costly to obtain but very worthwhile:

    "Rapid Response Advertising" Geoff Ayling

... if you're looking for books on how great internet
marketing is, you'll find many of them are written
for the person who has a hard time finding the on-switch
on their computer... too basic, from a technical point
of view, to be very useful on a practical level. Read
a few, about blogging or social media or whatever, and
you'll get the idea... with IM you learn by studying what
real marketers are doing, not reading books about
    Facebook.

I understand what you are saying and am trying to avoid books about "click here", "join there" etc.

I am thinking more in terms of business or marketing concepts and ideas that are designed with the internett in mind (seth godin, the long tail etc.).

Since I enjoy the innovating and new-thinking aspects of marketing more than the actual sale, I find a lot of entertainment in the discussions and examples/case studies you typically find in printed books.

I have a pretty good understanding on how to drive traffic and such+ I get my daily information from the WF, the blogs and my inbox.

Mark Joyner's "The Irresistable offer" & "The Great formula" were written after 2000 right? Both of them are fantastic books.
