Do you guys post alot of images on your blog posts like at the very top of the blog post? Does this help ?

    Images help, especially if they're relevant.

    A page with images and short paragraphs (most of the effective sales pages on the Internet are designed in this fashion) tends to get more attention than a page filled with lines and lines of text.

    Do you know of any place where I can take free images from the web and use them in my blog? I can't use the ones from google images ... right?

      You can use any image from Google that specifies it can be used for commercial content. When you are in the image section Google I believe you hit filter results and you can select the parameters of your search.

        Hmm... most of the images you find via G images are copyrighted - bad advice.

      There are lots of places to get free images, but it's still a good idea to check the licence terms before using them. Here are two:

      Why dont you just take your own pictures?

      As for posting images on my blog - yes, I try to include at least 1 image in every blog post, and sometimes a video or 2.

      Since my blog is about a hobby of mine, I have no problem taking stock images.

      Seems only google is exempt from copyright laws, though I understand some adult sites are suing Google. Basically anything that states it's public domain or free to use can be used. Also if you're marketing an affiliate product the vendor normally wants you to have these tools though it never hurts to check

        You have to be careful there too. Some clip art and photo sites will host images that they claim is in the public domain (or the ever dubious "believed to be in the public domain") and they really aren't. Some people have long assumed that anything on the Internet was public domain, and when those people build sites and put up image directories and claim they are public domain, that just makes for potential problems.

        So, it is best to get images from reputable sites.

    - SEO using your keywords in the image filename and ALT tag.

    Flickr is royalty free and since it uses tags, it's easy to find relevant images.

    There is a wordpress plugin that finds relevant flickr images and plugs them in your blog posts, but the name escapes my mind at the moment.

    An image in a blog post is indeed helpful...around 80 percent of people are said to be visuals..Of course you will have to choose images who has relations on your blog posts or with the idea or impression you wanted your viewer/readers to have...

    You can get stock photos on the net and you can use some as long as you use it as a decoration of some sort but if yo use it as a primary image for a certain blog you wrote about im not sure but probably copyright might become a problem...

    Most of the blogsites provide formats whereas you can use it to make the posting much easier...

    One word: TEST. Having images on your blog posts may or may not help.

    I followed the advice that images will bring more traffic to your blog posts and began adding images to pretty much every blog post.

    Then, I ran into an issue where WordPress won't let me upload images any more. It's been months since I've been able to post images.

    During that time, traffic has increased and continued to increase.

    Results may vary depending on your niche and audience.

    relevant images or videos will always make your blog more attractive. it gives people more of a visual feel for whatever your message is.

    it helps people gain a better understanding of it as well. it's definitely better than written text (even though it's nice to include that as well).

    they grab attention - and that is really all it can take sometimes to make them take the action you want them to.
