Do You Think Google Reads the Warrior Forum?

There are a few webmaster forums I suspect Google engineers and managers read. I assume it would be impossible, and probably negligent, not to want to read how your company is being perceived, loved, hated, gamed, etc.

On the issue of being gamed, assume someone posts, for example, that a few thousand forum profile links will make a measurable difference in most search rankings. Examples are given. A WSO is sold to instantly create thousands of forum profile links.

If I were Google, that is something I would want to know. Not by wondering why people do not like their search results now filled with crappy sites, but by proactively changing the search algorithm to devalue or not value profile links if that is the only link from a domain.

Seems to me that the Warrior Forum would be on a list of sites to monitor. Plus specific webmaster sites. Plus black hat sites.

I don't think I have ever seen a current Google employee out themselves on a forum, but it would sure be interesting to know.

Hmmm. I've said negative things about Google on here.

My PR3 site went to PR2 and then PR0, skipping PR1 entirely.

    Coincidence? Hmmm...

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

    Google is brilliant imho.

    Will
PS Can't wait for my PR to go up

EDIT: By the way, I think the OP made a very good point. There is no question that Google would know about the various ways of increasing backlinks. And I believe if the footprint of a method - any method - can be identified, they can always amend their algorithm. This is specifically why we do not get involved in any of these mass-link-building tactics.

Certainly Google staff monitor SEO related forums, I've seen posts on the more respected forums by Matt Cutts from time to time, we are very much a part of their collective R&D team.

A company that big and that rich...has got to have an "intelligence unit".....

their bread and butter is based on the quality of their search results, of course they are monitoring how people are trying to game their system. I'm sure they have enough time and resources to monitor a few hundreds of black hat forums.

hell this forum might belong to Google for all we know

      Absolutely YES...

Anyone who's business can be enhanced or compromised by some of things that turn up on the Warrior Forum and most other forums would be "smart" to keep an eye open.

Google is in business for the long haul especially since they like to "buy" other complimentary businesses. If they don't keep an eye on everything SE related then the technical giants at other SE's will get a huge advantage.

      Google aint that dumb...LOL

      regards

I have read these types of things in many other forums that google monitors many SEO related forums. I have no doubt about it because i have come to know many cases in which people lost their website PR on account of saying something bad about GOOGLE. And this thing also happened to one of our warrior members Dan.
It straightly proves that google is monitoring us.

I don't think google minds criticism. If you are engaging in black hat techniques they are probably interested.

If you hate google so much, optimize your sites for yahoo/bing. Or talk trash about google under an account that is not associated with your sites (if the forum Tos allows that) or vent someplace else. Don't let your emotions ruin your pr. Or better, don't depend on the pr.

I have openly bashed Google and their policies upon policies in various places including Matt Cutts blog.
Never saw anything bad from it.....except when somone burnt down my house shortly after....hmmmmm

But I don't use black-hat methods and stated honest, true observations.
Like never actually telling a person how they violated terms of service..or just replying that "it's their policy"...2 months after you have emailed them.....
But it is their site to do with as they have pointed out many times...and most of us are not worth their time and trouble to bother with in the first place.
