I just started looking into internet marketing...I've read like a zillion tutorials/ebooks in the past 1 1/2 week or so and my brain is so full of information I don't know what method is effective at all.... so a couple questions...

1) Do Sniper sites still make good money? I was so excited after hearing about this kind of method because I've never heard of them before but now after reading around the forum, sniper sites are actually an ancient idea? ANSWERED
2) I bought a year of web hosting, and none of my sites are getting any traffic... :[ Was it a mistake for a beginner to buy so much web hosting? X.x ANSWERED
3) Should I make websites whose topic I am passionate about or websites that are popular? In the long run which one would be more beneficial to me in terms of $. (same for what kind of product to promote also). ANSWERED
4) Obscure topics or Long tail keywords of Popular Topics? ANSWERED
5) Can articles be sold over and over again? So if I write them once I can sell them to different web masters?
6) When did you guys start making 'passive income'. I'm guessing it takes a while even though most guides say otherwise... (less than 24 hours). ANSWERED
7) What kind of traffic is most valuable? Directly from SERPs or from other things like forum links/ articles.ANSWERED
8) Does anyone here use Payzeno? Is it a good way to make money ANSWERED
9) Has anyone things that aren't so proud of? Semi-illegal? I heard of plenty of black hat ideas, methods like sharingmatrix, sharecash, which essentially irritate people to death in my opinion. e-Whoring (LOL), online gambling, etc. Should I stray far away from these methods?
10) Should I buy PLR articles? Or just write all the articles myself? ANSWERED
11) Do people really make $10,000 a month from IM alone? Sometimes I feel like half the people that claim they do are lying. The only way they're making the money is through lies (and their eBooks!). ANSWERED

Could someone give me details on how selling articles in bulks works? Why can those be resold while single articles can't be?

Thanks ahead of time!

Let me see how many of your questions I can answer..

I bought a year of web hosting, and none of my sites are getting any traffic... :[ Was it a mistake for a beginner to buy so much web hosting?

Well, that all depends. If you pick ONE method to concentrate on, and you take action creating a website (such as landing/squeeze page, sales page, wordpress blog) and you send traffic to that site (or sites) then I feel a year worth of hosting is a great idea.

BUT.. If you take no action, that year's worth of hosting can disappear quite quickly!

Should I make websites whose topic I am passionate about or websites that are popular? In the long run which one would be more beneficial to me in terms of $. (same for what kind of product to promote also).

I would have to say a combination of both, actually - but IMHO more in the passion category, tempered with what people want to buy.

As you have probably read in your zillion ebooks, Internet marketing is all about finding a hungry crowd, who are willing to pay, and giving them what they want.

If you are passionate about training ferrets to sing opera - probably not going to make much money.

But if your passion was to help people who are hurting from a bad relationship, or had a great way to lose weight, or (you guessed it) a technique that you have used to make money (online or offline) then you've got the start of a hungry crowd.

To review: Find a topic you are passionate about (so you keep interested in it long enough to see it through), yet temper it by doing market research to ensure people want to buy your information.

Can articles be sold over and over again? So if I write them once I can sell them to different web masters?

Hmm, tricky question.. Yes, and yet no..

IF you are writing articles as a hired help, then NO. These articles can and should only be sold once to the client of which you are writing for (that would be the ethical thing to do).

IF you are writing your own article packs on a popular, in demand topic, then yes - most likely as a PLR pack (allowing them to change the articles and/or use them as they see fit).

What kind of traffic is most valuable? Directly from SERPs or from other things like forum links/ articles.

I may get some Warriors who disagree, but ALL traffic, as long as it is targeted traffic, is valuable. That includes so-called free traffic (paid for with your time) such as backlinks, forum posting, articles, SEO - and paid traffic such as banner ads, pay-per-click, etc.

Just remember to keep the traffic sources as targeted as possible!

Should I buy PLR articles? Or just write all the articles myself?

If you are building sites/blogs to get traffic for Adsense, or to flip, then buying good-quality PLR and rewriting the content can be quite valuable, both in time saved and money invested.

However, if you are going to sell the articles to clients or as packs, always write your own. Article buyers want original content, and expect that for what they are paying.

      Hope these answered helped!

yes...always put yourself in the customer shoe...

People don't buy something even in the cheapest price if they don't see the benefit of it to them...Make them feel it's something they must have..

But, here is a link to some information that might help:

let me give you my piece of advice, stop reading THE zillionn ebooks and just concentrate on one. yes one!

when you have so much to read and all are pointing to different method of doing the same, you get your head bugged down with info overload and im thinking you are already suffering from such syndrome[pardon my bluntness]

between what you are passionate about and what the crowd is hungry for - try and find a leverage between the two.

you can only be good if you write what you are passionate about and you can only make money when you write for the hungry market.so you need to make a research on what is hot in the market and see if you can make a meaning off it through your write ups.

article writing-yes you can wiote to sell to others over and over again while you also make use of the article yourself.BUT to make good money online you need to come clean to your clients

if you decide to go into article writing to sell to others and still use for yourself what you are doing is hurting your NAME which is the most valuable asset that will work for you as an online marketer. so its better you keep your name from being associated with scammers online.

to people making $10,000 every month. yes their are some but very few, and they did not just start making such figure overnight but through sheer hardwork and determination, but many are still struggling to cross the 3 figure mark which is a good starting point for a starter.

dont just wait for the best method or you might wait for ever but start with the one you already have. learn from the mistakes you make thats how to make money from this online business!

    all the best!!!

Taking bits of information from many sources, then trying to fit them together into a cohesive system is like taking a handful of pieces from a bunch of different jigsaw puzzles, mixing them together, then trying to assemble a puzzle.

Your chances of success are much better if you pick one method (preferably one that you know people are having success with) and follow that method faithfully from beginning to end.

What do you want to have accomplished ONE YEAR from today?

On July 23, 2011, how much money will you have made? HOW? What will you do for it?

See, you are the very typical noob that lands at the WF, and after perusing the WSO section and looking over all the HOW I MADE OODLES OF CASH BY ___________ you went off and read a "zillion tutorials/ebooks" and so your "brain is so full of information" you want someone to tell which method is "effective"...and

so the problem of Information Overload, which has begun, is NOW about to get even worse as you look at the answers from people who have DONE certain things...THEIR WAY.

    Big SIGHHHHHHHH here.

IF you have a clearly defined goal, with a written plan of action, and you take the time to THINK about things (today is my THINK day for some reason)...

THEN, you will be given a path to follow. One which takes YOU to YOUR goal. The right way.

Not by this or that method, or technique or software or lens, blog or web site...but the path which will automatically take you to your goal is the one which WORKs FOR YOU.

You say, "I was so excited after hearing about this kind of method because I've never heard of them before..." and here is where many NEWBS fall down.

They get blinded by the shiny gold WSO, or the sparkling, dazzling screen shots of PayPal accounts and the glowing testimonials...they forget to ASK the right question, which is,

will this method suit ME? And without answering that question, you and thousands of others are taken down the path of the flock, the "herd" as it is known here...to be sheared by the gurus and other IMer's who feast upon your new EXCITEMENT.

And an answer for this number 3 question you give the highest value to:

Should I make websites whose topic I am passionate about or websites that are popular? In the long run which one would be more beneficial to me in terms of $. (same for what kind of product to promote also).

And my answer would be (surprising)...

Which type fits in with your long range GOALS? Which brings us full circle back to the questions of HOW MUCH money do you want to make in the next year? WHY? And which is the best way for YOU to go about doing it?

May be a PASSION web site. May be a popular topic where you compete with established marketers.

Why make web sites at all? HOW does making a web site fit in with your goals?

IF you read the archives of the WF, you'll find untold thousands of people who did what you did, JUMPED into the deep end and got their brains "so full of information" they struggled and got frustrated and SPENT MONEY on things they thought were the ticket...only to find out many months later, they were on the wrong path for them.

And MOST of these frustrations come about BECAUSE they didn't have a clearly defined goal of what, why, and HOW BEFORE they jumped in.

I think, unless you change your mindset right now, that you too will spend months and months with little to nothing to show for your discombobulated efforts.

But I could be wrong too.

Good luck with your new beginnings.

    gjabiz

PS. GET a written plan of action together and include long term, mid range and short term goals.

      @Youtube Mikelo
Thanks for answering so many questions it definitely cleared a few things up for me!

      @ filiks
Yes that's a very good piece of advice but the thing is I started off knowing completely NOTHING at all so this has only been some research I've been doing. I want to see what kinds of ideas are out there and pick some (doing them 1 a time/ combining them - like the different ways to get backlinks).

Yeah, I think I will try to find a middle ground between passion/ and a topic that makes money.

      @John Rogers

Yes I do plan to do that. I also have a part time job at a company (it's my parent's friend so the workload is very pleasant and I'm learning the basics of how a business works and I get 10$/hr) so I'm trying to do things that fill up my free time. I just don't like hearing about something and then not knowing what it is... so I ask. If I see a thread title open it, and know nothing pertaining to it I'd like to know what I'm missing. :] IMO, it's important
to be open to other methods, w/o overloading it though...

      @gjabiz
I think many of you are worried for me that I'll let myself slide down a lane that'll leave me with nothing.

But no, I'm a pretty realistic person... EVEN if, I end up with nothing at all doing IM for a while I don't think I'd be depressed or frustrated... The thing is I simply love learning and as long as I learned something/read something new I will be happy... Besides the way I see it I have so much knowledge now from all that reading that I could quickly write tons of money making articles and sell those... (without ripping off the original authors of course). Also, I was hoping reading good formal writing often would get rid of some of my horrible writing habits. So no loss, only gains....

The previous forum I was very active in was a site that was dedicated to java programming/ pascal (object delphi) programming. I went from day one knowing nothing at all and having a little wee noob rank on the forums to being a person that was somewhat liked. Coding became an easy thing for me to do, I could write a functional program in less than a week worth thousands of lines. From all this effort I earned nothing at all, but I was still happy. This was in middle school, by the way (essentially I made programs like autobots for mmorpg's Runescape/Neopets/Other Easy Games that weren't full screen). On the forum I came across people who did graphic design so I also picked that skill up.. video editing too...

I'm not desperate for MONEY I'm desperate for knowledge... In my honest opinion it's the most superior thing in the world... so don't fret for me, or fit me in a common stereotype.

I just want to break this whole process known as IM up in my brain pick one brick and then start making my brickhouse from there...

Thanks so much for all the answers and trying to put me on the right track.

And sorry I'm still not to clear about article's/plr's and their rights...

Youtube Mikelo says if I write an article pack it's ok to resell the articles more than once but Alexa Smith, you say I should never resell articles? o_0

And filiks I'm not sure what you mean; It's unethical to resell articles over again but I can do it if I want too?

If anyone could help me clear this up that'd be great.

        Thanks!

Since 3 is the one you are most interested in the answer to, here is your
        answer.

You want to build web sites that will make money, unless you are doing
        this for a hobby.

If you can get into something that you enjoy, great...but if there is no
demand for a solution to a problem, there is no money to be made. It's
        that simple.

Stop thinking like a marketer and start thinking like a regular person.

If you are in the mood to get a video game for your PC so you can have
something to do when you're sick of working, where do you go?

You go to a marketplace that specializes in selling video games or at least
a marketplace that, if is one that is more general (like Amazon) has a good
        reputation.

If you want to get a natural treatment for acne, you're going to go to a
site that has information on acne.

If you're just looking to BS with other people (think Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
then you better, as the site owner, think of some way to monetize that
sucker because most of the people who go there aren't going to give you
        a dime.

Point is, you can pick your greatest passion of all time, but if it's on stamp
collecting, unless you have a way to actually get people to buy rare stamps
from you, I seriously doubt you're going to make any money from the site.

If you put up a site with pinups from the 1940s, well, you might get a lot
of people to go there to check out Betty Grable but you sure as heck
won't make any money UNLESS you can find related stuff to sell in the
process. And even at that, most people will go there, look at the photos,
and then be on their way.

Passion can lead to money, but it doesn't have to.

Depends on what your priorities are when all is said and done.

Do you want to make money or do you want to enjoy what you're doing?

Yes, you can have both. But the one is not necessarily a guarantee of
        the other.

Only you can decide if something will or will not work - and you can only do this by actually trying it.

    2) I bought a year of web hosting, and none of my sites are getting any traffic... :[ Was it a mistake for a beginner to buy so much web hosting? X.x
Not really, you were making a long term commitment. One year is not a lot of web hosting. If your sites are not getting any traffic, perhaps you have too many sites. Focus on one.

    3) Should I make websites whose topic I am passionate about or websites that are popular? In the long run which one would be more beneficial to me in terms of $. (same for what kind of product to promote also).
Some of both if you can find it. Money wise, some people can just manage a business and give the appearance of some passion behind the products. In my experience, if I find something I am passionate about I can make money more easily as I believe in it - and I can sleep well at night.

    4) Obscure topics or Long tail keywords of Popular Topics?
Both ways can work. Pick one.

    5) Can articles be sold over and over again? So if I write them once I can sell them to different web masters?
Hmm, you ask this question, but I'm going to refer you to your question 10 for the answer.

    6
) When did you guys start making 'passive income'. I'm guessing it takes a while even though most guides say otherwise... (less than 24 hours).
This tells me you've been reading primarily only one type of guide. How long it takes me to get to passive income and how long it takes you depends on way to many factors that the answers are really not important.

    7) What kind of traffic is most valuable? Directly from SERPs or from other things like forum links/ articles.
The traffic that brings you qualified buyers is the most important. It could come from a plethora of different sources. Depends on the niche and your marketing style.

    8) Does anyone here use Payzeno? Is it a good way to make money
    Never heard of it.

Only you can decide. Will you sleep at night doing these things? If you were e-whoring and it was a family member you were using the method on - but you didn't know it and they didn't know it was you - would you feel guilt learning the next day that your uncle or whoever signed up for a PPA offer because you suckered them into it as they thought you were a legit person?

    10) Should I buy PLR articles? Or just write all the articles myself?
Do you want to spend time or money?

    11) Do people really make $10,000 a month from IM alone? Sometimes I feel like half the people that claim they do are lying. The only way they're making the money is through lies (and their eBooks!).
They do, but those who do do not typically do it alone. They build up a business, they outsource, or they have employees.

    12) And lastly do you ever feel like IM is like a minimum wage job? If you divde the total time you spent researching, writing, setting up, promoting...
    No.
