Google Analytics vs Host Gator Traffic Report HELP!

INTERNET MARKETING

Ok ARRRGGHHHHH there is just not enough time in the day for this......So im thinking my Credit Site based on Google analytics is doing crappy..It shows 1-3 visits a day, so of course im bummed out AND to top it off no adsense clicks at all (affiliate links as well for that matter)

So I log into my hostgator account where its held at to check and WHAT THE HELL This month alone it says 939 uniques & 2861 visitors????? So how in the hell can this be so so so far off from what google says?

(side note) my mortgage site in my sig is the same way..15-20 hits per day from google and in host gator for this month ALONE its 2397 uniques!!!!

I can send you via email my stats from hostgator to see what im missing and to make sure its not all bots (as im not the best when it comes to decipher this info).......

So is the stats are true from host gator then tell me from my site what im doing wrong with no adsense clicks at all!

MODS---If you need to move this as well please do as this could go into both listings I belive (for ppc etc)

For the record I go with Awstats from my web server because I find that Google Analytics has sometimes slowed my site down in the past.

It doesn't appear you have GA added to every page of your site which may be why the stats are off. If I do View/Page Source to see the code and then use Edit/Find to look for "analytics", it's only coming up on a few of your pages. GA won't track stats for pages on which it is not included, if that makes sense. I ran into this on a few of my sites before I realized what was happening.

Google Analytics skews lots of data in favor of Google, but shows basic ok.
For that reason I developed my custom raw log file analytics system that matches actual sales data with sources of traffic and shows where buyers are coming from and what they were searching for before making purchase. Anything else is irrelevant.

So keep raw log files traffic data - they contain goldmine.

So with most of you saying google could be wrong and hostgator correct (or somewhat) what am I doing wrong that I cant covert any clicks or sales?

Have you considered getting a third opinion?

Perhaps try StatCounter - Free Invisible Web Tracker, Hit Counter and Web Stats or Web Analytics in Real Time | Clicky

I've never relied on HostGator stats because the data is not a true reflection of actual real people visits. I would give more credence to GA.
