Question about Facebook marketing

Hey guys,

I'm noticing more and more than -- when people ask you to visit their Facebook page -- it's not just a personal profile....and it's not just a Page or Group either.

There seems to be some functionality that allows a person to create new "tabs" at the top of their Facebook Page and even include opt-in forms and whatnot on that screen.

Here's an example: bit.ly/bjDVTv

Is this a Facebook app? Is it an outside service?

Anyone got some thoughts on how to do this?

    It is a fan page. You can create one for free within Facebook. Click on Advertising and then there should be a small link near the top (if I remember correctly) to create a page. If not, just Google "how to create a fan page on facebook".

        its free and people just click "like" so they become fans. then u can send them updates and events or special offers or just w.e u like. so its a nice way to get the word out there.

      The best way is to start getting loads of friends. Getting them in your niche is the best.

      Then you can start groups, fan pages, create apps, sweepstakes, events etc. You can also post status updates with links to your blog etc.

      You can also use facebook ads, which are really popular these days. There are really a lot of ways to market on facebook should start with it.
