Two days ago i started a campaign for the allegedly "great" tattoo niche, i chose a clickbank product which looked ok to me. I made a site, and i started PPC. I actually got pretty good CTR and hits, and my budget was maxed out quickly. I didn't sell ONE thing. Today, by coincidence i found some thread here on the forum (on the old forum) where "amycheung" gave Clickbank advice...and i read how she explicitly said NOT to use the tattoo niche since she lost $200 in very little time promoting the SAME product/site as i did. I am glad i caught that in time, otherwise i would've had that campaign running longer. Just to give you heads up. She also said to stay away from the IM niche, just as a side-note. So..before you decide on a product, put yourself in the typical position of someone doing a google search. "Tattoo Designs" ---> very unlikely someone would BUY them. |

I would have to disagree... it all depends on the type of targeted traffic you're receiving... If you have targeted traffic of people who are ready to buy, they will buy anything that fits their budget... How much traffic are you sending to your site, and how many hopclicks have you gotten? Also, more to the point, if you only started this campaign 2 days ago... I would suggest not being so impatient... it takes years to build a strong Internet 'authority site' business... I would strongly suggest article marketing, link building, blog building, social networking, etc, to begin with, as well as any other forms of marketing instead of ppc... it builds better back links and a long term business, compared to short term ads that go away after a short time... - Jared |

Hi George, I too tried the tattoo niche, got a decent domain, started promoting it and quickly blew through a good chunk of change myself. Being a "newbie" I chalked it up to inexperience. After several hundred clicks and -0- sales I killed it. What was worse than that was a "How To Speak Spanish" course that made the tattoo failure look like a raving success. Get this, over 2200 clicks and -0- sales!!!! You are not alone dude! I think the missing link was a "hot market". There may be a hot market in both the mentioned markets but I think I was looking in the wrong place. You won't find many catfish in a cattle barn. |

Well, my friends are making tons of money from Tattoo design and also "how to speak Spanish" niches. Go and check what's wrong with your PPC campaign. |

I agree with Jared, it is way too early to call. In addition to his suggestions, with a good CTR and hits, you should examine your landing page (if you used one) and the product site itself. With good CTR/hits it looks like you have interested customers, but they are not buying, so either the message that got them there is not consistent (ie, the ad promotes blue tattoos and landing page/pitch page sells red tatoos) or the landing page/pitch page just doesn't have a strong enough value proposition and needs rewriting. Also remember those that want tattoos and those that want to remove tattoos both might click on "tattoo", and you may be getting motivated buyers looking for something other than what you're selling. Make your keywords and ad and landing page and pitch page all work together. There are plenty of things to tweak. I think getting a decent CTR with relevant clicks is the hardest part. |

its was placement targeting on niche sites, no keyword campaign. i THINK i remember i already promoted tattoo designs months and months back, without any success. It was a typical ad like "Tattoo Designs Wanted?" Chose from 1000s of award winning tattoo designs something like that. Don't like that niche, really .) |

I've been promoting a product called "combat core" to fighters via my website .. FightPassport.com It doesn't sell at all. Around 700 clicks in the last couple weeks and 0 sales. Mind you, I haven't sold any sort of clickbank product at all since the stocks crashed .. |

One of the things that you have to consider are Leakages. What it basically means is if someone can go to the product site and purchase the product without you getting an affiliate commission. So for instance, if there is a phone number they can call and order the product, you won't get a commission from that sale. Or for instance, they might have a paypal link, for which you may not get any commission as well. Hope it helps. |

yes guys, i certainly see your point. But it might very well be the case that some products are just not attractive enough, their landing pages are bad, and so on...despite what it says on the CB market place. I have good success in the health/remedy niche. Just saying, some niches are just more difficult than others, especially if you hear the same complaint about the same niche (and same site!) from a fellow marketer. Makes you wonder. |

Add me to the list of people who "lost" money in the tattoo niche. But I admit, I put in very little effort and targeted idiotic keywords via adwords.
