Saw this video on YouTube...was hoping that someone on here might know how to do this please see link.

ww.youtube.com/watch?v=de9MFPyV2Pg&annotation_id=annotation_75214 1&feature=iv

I know that there are overlays that can used with CPC but this seems to go beyond something that simple. Is there anyone that can explain how to do this, and exactly what is going on with this

Thanks

Its called video interactivity, and you can create such videos by using

Dramatically Increase Conversions Using Interactive Video :: Veeple.com

or google video interactivity you will find out more about it.

Its called a "call to action overlay" - its available on promoted videos.

Do a google search for "call to action overlay", and you should some find some google support pages on the topic.

There was recent big thread about this. I think the consensus was that they probably have a special arrangement with you tube (paid a lot of money). As a rule, youtube doesn't allow clickable links inside the videos.

Are they even a channel partner, can't see any degree of
customization and the video don't support HD etc.

Their videos have a TINY amount of views.

What program does YT have that would allow something of
such average content to facilitate links like that?

I've looked all over the available YT programs and can't
    see anything.

This is a purely commercial, run of the mill YT user offering
    nothing special .

Seems strange to me they have been afforded this
on the basis of "paying youtube a lot of money."

If they have, they must be making a hell of a loss
as they have low views , pathethic subscriber numbers
and there's nothing on YT offering such a service.

    I'll dig deeper me thinks..

Jay, LT is a flash overlay, once you've applied it you can't re-upload
the video to YT. It's purely for using the YT player and bandwith with
a clickable link on your own sites.

What these guys are doing is something different.

    Kev shoots, he scores.

Pretty good news, so as long as you can generate a ROI,
    that's a hell of a nice toy.

Thank you for looking in-depth for that. Ive seen that, and have looked into it. Here is the thing to, having done the research into it. It says that the overlay comes in to effect after 10 secs into the video. The video here, has the clickable links coming up IMMEDIATELY, that is the only reason I am thinking that it might be something different.

Has anyone use the CVA? If so can you verify that this is the same thing. Being that it is highly customizable, and I have not found anything about how to customize it, leads me to think that this may not be it.

I was thinking that the clickable overlay might be the buttons on the bottom of the video. As they do come up a little bit into the program. The buttons on the left, start loading as soon as the video starts.

Again thanks people for continued research into this.

The example video was uploaded on July 31, 2009 - a lot could have changed in the past year.

Maybe when the video was uploaded, youtube did not strip links?

If you want links in your videos "now" - the only option I know is the call to action overlay.

If you go to the channel of the guy who uploaded the example video "apartmenthomeliving" - he has not uploaded a video in 5 months. The most recent video contains a watermark image, but no live link. So maybe in 2009 youtube allowed the uploading of videos with live links. But has since removed that feature and started charging for it.

Ok... I REALLY want to know how this is done.

My guess is that since all his videos are linked to his other YT videos, and that annotations can only link within YT to other YT vids, maybe there are transparent annotations over each "button".

That would make it appear you were clicking on buttons within the video.

I don't even know if this could be done. I'ts my best guess.

Aren't clickable links against YT's TOS though? I want to use Linkedtube but don't want to get my videos deleted.

This should explain in more detail.

I use the YouTube Promoted Video feature ALL the time. But the ANNOTATION linking to another site is beyond awesome.

I did some digging around and found the video you see above.

The only thing I can see that he did was claim to be a non-profit organization.

It's the only way I've found to have the Annotation be the link to the site.

    Weird... but awesome.
