How Do Build Customer List When Using Paypal?

I have a client who is taking Paypal as payment (customer clicks on order link and they're taken off site to Paypal payment page), and we're trying to figure out how to get these customers added automatically to their customer list... probably in Aweber... since the Paypal payment page doesn't ask for email and other info.

We thought about forcing people to then optin on the confirmation page, but it's a physical product, so it doesn't make sense for us to ask them to "login" to receive their product if it's being shipped (not digital).

Any suggestions?

Have you looked at the AWeber parser for PayPal?

    Here's a page on it:

Actually, I think you can make a great argument for having customers give you their email address after ordering. Just say something to the effect of: "Please enter your email address below so we can contact you if we have any questions about your order." It also makes good sense from a customer service POV to get people who have purchased a specific product on a list that you can email in the future.

You can have a thank you page that collects the email address with an opt-in box. (Though most people here don't like forced opt-in. Make it an option to sign up instead of a requirement)

Also, certain scripts (Like rapid action profits, nanacast, infusionsoft, etc) can automatically put people on a list. (Which is ideal actually)
