Positive Article Marketing ROI - Interesting Point!

This is for all of you who are confused about whether or not article marketing produces a positive ROI.

If you think about it... Article marketing can provide you with a very large ROI (Return on Investment) in many different ways.

Whether you write articles yourself OR outsource them, you can most likely agree that on average, ONE article costs around $5 to produce.

With that being said, no matter which way you use articles to promote your offer(s), you can achieve a positive ROI very easily. Allow me to explain...

If you are direct linking from your article to a domain name that redirects your readers to your affiliate link or CPA offer, you would only need ONE sale or ONE lead to achieve a positive ROI from your article. With many products out there that pay $10-30 per sale... Just ONE sale would double your money or more (going on the fact that one article costs about $5).

Let's say you're promoting an email or zip submit CPA offer that only pays about $2/lead. You would still only need 3 leads per article to achieve a positive ROI!

If you are building a list and using your articles to send people to a squeeze page where they sign up to your list... You would only need ONE subscriber per article to achieve a positive ROI, considering each subscriber is worth about $1/month ($12/year).

If you are using article marketing for SEO purposes, each article you submit to Ezine Articles will result in a valuable PR6 back-link to your website (or two) which is definitely worth $5... Again resulting in a positive ROI.

The back-link part doesn't count if you are posting your articles to your own website, however, posting them to your own site is also a very good idea to build your own web presence and not hand over all of your traffic to article directories.

I have achieved nothing but success with my article marketing efforts. I make thousands of dollars a month from my articles and I am wondering how anybody who submits quality, keyword optimized articles to Ezine Articles doesn't achieve a positive ROI.

What are your thoughts?

Best,
Shane

Best ROI for me is putting the articles on my own site. This means traffic is coming direct to my site. Then once the page ranks, I submit it word for word to all top article directories by hand and leech a whole load more traffic.

I like to work out the amount of unique visitors I got from article and then work it out against cost of creating and promoting the article. Usually works out to like 5c a visitor which is nice. Reminds me of Google in 2003.

Does this result in a PR6 backlink? Or the PR0 that most article pages have?

Great post, by the way. Other than that one point, I agree 100%.

Good point! Actually I just checked the PR of one of my articles, and it was PR1.

I suppose it's safe to say that it gives you a PR0 - PR6 back-link. The more aged your article becomes, the more page rank it will acquire.

Thanks for bringing that up! Still worth it in my opinion. Google loves Ezine Articles.

Absolutely, it's still a very valuable directory. Good to hear that an article page does go above PR0 though - every little bit helps.

I have to agree with GuerrillaIM, if I write an article, I really prefer that people read it on my site. I use Social media to to attract readers and do my best to write well enough to compel them to join my list. This isn't a knock on article marketing, I have friends that use it as their main business model very effectively. My highest ROI comes from visitors to my sites.

Thanks for sharing Leny. Whichever method works for you -- Whether you submit your articles to an article directory, or you post them to your own site -- my point still remains the same regarding the ROI of article marketing.

By stating that you get an even higher ROI from the articles you post on your site, you are further exemplifying my point that article marketing produces a positive ROI. Thank you!

Same for me. I'd rather spend time developing my own properties and using article directories for supplemental links/traffic.

IF their is a hot keyword which is converting for me, then ill put the time in to create unique articles for all the article directories... and those I get a good ROI from! But still, for all the newbs out there, you need to be growing your own web properties. Don't just rely on article directories, especially for choice keywords.
