PLR/ MRR products. Rehash risk?

Hey!

What's your take on usage of PLR/ MRR products as providing value
("bribes") to your prospects?

Can any of you share your marketing story where you´ve successfully used PLR/ MRR products and received appreciation for it from your prospects, and as a result, got opt ins/ sales?

I happen to sit on a smaller goldmine of these kind of products, many of
them are re brandable, which makes it "my product" .. Just thinking about
wether to use them or not .. There is a "rehash" kind of feeling to it .. since
I´m not the only one in possession of these products. To present unique content is a virtue ..
So dealing with PLR/ MRR is a balance act.

Give me your take guys.

    Hey,

I am considering the same thing about rehashing PLR products cause I want to build business. Making ones own products take much more time and skills which I have nto got yet.

I know successful internet marketers do this all the time. So why not?

    Regards

      Hi,

We offer some as gifts, don't know about bribes or your niche, etc. People still want a nice, fun experience on the web (no tricks, though) with value, like good freebies

Here are some posts on my blog about PLR with more specifics:

I sent a plr product out to my list last week .... It was a good product and I thought they could use it. I didnt rebrand it or anything, just told them I picked it up with rights to pass along.

I got several emails back thanking me for sending it.

A lot of MRR/PLR is crap, but there is a lot of good stuff out there and not everyone has already seen everything. Take care in what you send and make sure it is something your list can benefit from and they will be glad you sent it.

I think the trick is to know your list and know what types of information they will be interested in.

I have done the same as Lee - told them I picked the rights to pass it along and didn't even change it, and people found it useful and nobody made any negative comments.

If I wanted to use it as my own, then personally I would change it and at least add some personal experience, anecdotes etc. just to make it more "me" as a big part of building a following through email lists is your personality.

  • PLR is very powerful, but you have a bit of time with rebranding it to get the results.

If you're in the IM niche, many people know about PLR anyway. Even if, occasionally, they end up getting the same product twice through rebranding, it's easy enough to deal with.

Outside the IM niche, you may occasionally have people buying the same product, and you need to address these, but somehow it happens much less. Maybe it's because these people aren't such frequent buyers of products. If it does happen, it's easy enough to explain the situation, and you can always give a refund (and even offer a 'bonus' to make up for the buyer's disappointment).

I'd always recommend looking at higher cost, lower distribution PLR. This gives you a product which is more likely to be unique, and it will also likely be less rehashed. For instance, some marketers sell high quality products first with personal rights, then later they offer PLR for an additional income. Those are excellent for rebranding.

Stay away from anything that's been around for years, or where the PLR itself is transferrable, as you're much more likely to run into overexposure problems.
