Annoying Spam Comments On My Blog

Hello warriors,

I have a question about blog comments I keep getting on my blog Facebook SEO

This is what the most recent one looks like:

HTML Code:
<a href="http://www.theheatblog.com/home_insurance.html" rel="nofollow">home insurance</a> =PPP <a href="http://www.hotkumquat.com/life-insurance-rates.html" rel="nofollow">life insurance quotes</a> 596 <a href="http://www.bee-gees.info/" rel="nofollow">auto insurance</a> %DD <a href="http://www.karenmartinezforassembly.org/auto_insurance.html" rel="nofollow">carinsurance</a> 8]]]
It was submitted to this post
HTML Code:

The comments are always the same and link to insurance sites and they are always from different ip's so I can't just block the ip. They are always different.

I have probably gotton 20 of these over the last week and I just keep marking them as spam in wordpress.

Any suggestions?

Nice design, it looks like a facebook page - but is a wordpress blog.

Have you got any plugins which can prevent spam comments?

You could always just turn off comments. You probably don't want to do that though. Perhaps the only way is to manually delete them all.

Turn off comments from your blog so no one can post comment.

Yup, that's all you need to install and you won't be seeing them pesky spam comments anymore. One of my favorite plugins.

Strange you mentioned insurance company links. I checked one of my dormant blogs the other day and I had about 200 of them that got past the SPAM filters and were awaiting me to approve them.

Akismet is good, no question, but you could also install Bad Behavior. It's designed to work with Akismet and the combination works well.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Block comments with links - gets rid of quite a lot.
