Question on article syndication and backlinks

Hi All,

I am just starting to do article marketing (I've written articles for several years though) and I'm trying to learn all I can to do this the 'right way' (although I'm sure there are many 'right ways'.

Ok, on to my question:

If I submit an article to many directories that's identical (syndication) is it possible that I can get backlinks to show up in Yahoo (Market Samurai) from different locations/sites (even though the article is identical) and do any of you experience this?

I ask this because I'm reading so may conflicting opinions. I'm trying to get some facts.

Hope I made sense with this question...let me know and I can provide more information.

Thanks in advance.

Most of the article directories allow article syndication and you want to submit to ones that do so.

When your article gets syndicated by other sites then it will get syndicated with your authors resource box and your links in it so eventually the links will start showing up, some sooner some later.

So, have you experienced this personally? And what I mean is links from different directories showing up from the exact same article?

Yes I have, whether you submit to many article directories or your article gets syndicated from article directory by someone else the links will show up.

When I was doing mass article submission using submission service I was able to get around 400 one way baclinks in short period of time as most of the links sowed up quite fast and over time more and more links showed up. And when the article I submitted got syndicated by other websites then more links started showing up form these new sites. That is called link building on autopilot.

To get your article syndicated a lot, the article needs to be very good quality article. It can be worth investing money in good articles as these can build you lot of links without you doing any work.

      Hi Alexa,

No...your post was spot on what I was looking for. I've read alot of your posts on here so I appreciate your input.

Follow-up question: so do the syndicated copies that go into Google's supplimental index still add off page SEO juice even though they don't show in your opinion?

      Thanks again.

      Kenneth

I do this all the time.

To be honest, I've never actually looked at Yahoo in my life, so I can't answer anyway. But I can tell you what happens with Google, if that helps? (If not, then please excuse me and ignore the rest of the post! )

I always post all articles on my own site first and get them indexed there, then submit to EZA, then after publication there to a few other directories. The backlinks to my own site from the syndicated article copies (the ones I've spread around myself, and later the ones that other webmasters have spread around on their own sites) all count toward my site's off-page SEO and help to move/keep it up in Google's SERP's, but the syndicated copies (usually - not always) go only into Google's supplemental index and therefore (usually - not always) don't appear in their own right in Google's main SERP's for the keywords.

So if by "show up" you mean "appear as listings in their own right in the normal SERP's without looking at the supplemental index", the answer is "no, usually not".

Yes, indeed. There's hugely widespread misunderstanding about this. Mostly because many people tend to confuse "syndicated content" with "duplicate content" and are living in fear of a so-called "duplicate content penalty" that doesn't actually exist at all as they imagine it.

Difficult. I wish you well in trying. In my opinion the best you can hope to do is to assess whose opinions you believe and trust.

Apologies if my entire reply is unhelpful to you.

The way I do it for sindications is this:

First I submit my articles to the main directories (ezinearticles, goarticles, article dashboard, etc.) After they get approved and published (day-two-three) I use automated software to publish to all others. Some get refused some don't. Still I get 20-30 articles up per day.
