I just installed DLGuard. It is AWESOME

I wanted to follow up on an earlier post where some folks (including me) were asking about DLGuard to protect download links.

I am about to launch a product on ClickBank and I wanted to make sure I was setup in a very professional way to attract as many affiliates as possible. Part of that was to have a secure download area.

I chose DLGuard because I noticed that the owner, Sam, was here often enough to post, and seemed to genuinely want to help people. Support is **really** important when it comes to a product like DLGuard that can get technical on the installation.

Here is a summary of my experience:

• Purchased and downloaded flawlessly. He uses his own product to offer you the download, so you get to see what your customer's experience will be like.
• Unzipped the files and ran the .exe installer program (there is a manual method for non-Windows users, but I used a PC to install it).
• Gave the installer my FTP info and it did the uploading.
• It told me that ioncube was not installed on my server. I knew this because I'm with Bluehost. I tried to install it myself and I didn't really know how.
• I emailed support. Sam replied within an hour. I sent him my php.ini file (which was created for me automatically by my hosting company) and he emailed me back the fixed file. He told me where to copy it.
• I re-installed, and everything went amazing.
• I configured the product for Clickbank and did a successful "test sale" within 30 minutes. Really easy.
• I played around with the statistics tools and other features and am just so happy with this program.

so in the end, unless you have a server (like me) that does not enable ioncube by default, you may have to get support from Sam to help with the install (he even offered to FTP into my site to fix it for free). Most people will NOT encounter this type of problem with most hosting companies.

Anyway, I wanted to let people know that this guy stands behind his products and really gives awesome support. Plus the product is outstanding.

I also found out he has a product called hopguard. I DEFINITELY intend to buy this product once I am ready to recruit affiliates.
