I just bought up HTML5marketing domains

I can't help but feel that HTML5 will revolutionise online marketing or at the very least have a huge impact on IM anyway. So I just went and bought up .com .net .org and .co.uk.

Anyone care to share their thoughts? I'm convinced I've just made a great investment...

    Thanks for the response Healy.

You're right, almost all IMers (I imagine) do very little HTML coding on their site. But I'm under the impression that HTML5 will be used in a similar context to how "web 2.0" is used. HTML5 to me, is the name given to the next generation of online surfing and I've heard others use it in this way. I could be way off...

By the way, HTML5coders.org/net/co.uk are all available. I'm not going to bother getting them but surely that's going to be a SERIOUSLY heavily searched phrase in a years time? I did buy some other HTML5 related domains.

I have never even been to HTML4 sites before, but I am sure there will be a market for it.

Being ahead of the crowd is always a good start!

Good idea, I know there's a book on HTML5 for Web Designers that is really popular and they are always running out of stock so there are a lot of people looking for more info, Good Luck.

You have a few days to get a refund on the domains. Do it.

HTML5 and Web 2.0 are two completely different areas. One is a programming language. The other a concept of how to run a site in general.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you essentially have the equivalent of PHPmarketing, ASPmarketing, JSmarketing, HTMLmarketing, etc... they make little sense.

Ok, well I'll relax about those domains for now.

      I did also purchase HTML5coding.org/.net/.co.uk.

HTML5 is a completely different type of revolution than the
Web 2.0 movement. You're right that it will change the way
sites are developed. So, while it may not be something that
directly effects IMer's, indirectly everyone will benefit from
its clean streamlined markup, which opens up a canvas of
opportunities to us designer/developers out there.

It's more akin to the design movement which removed tables
as a design framework, and replaced them with divs, spans,
and swanky XHTML/CSS markup. It was a beautiful thing,
and HTML5, provided it catches on, will be very similar.

HTML 4.0 isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but it's really
amazing what can be accomplished with HTML5.

Good catch on those names. You might even put up some type
of job board so people can find HTML5 developers.

They are still working on the HTML5 standard so not sure when it will come into use. I am looking forward to trying out the new animation features.

HTML5 is being rolled out on quite a few sites already. I think in the coming months people are going to want to get HTML5 designs.

The standard is still under development. You can use what they have done already providing the browser supports it, but it may changed before the final version. I wouldn't recommend it for a commercial application at this point in time.
