Feedburner RSS Feed Help!

I know very little about RSS feeds. I have a self-hosted Wordpress site Top 10 Diets - Top 10 Diets. I went to Feedburner to set up my feed, but it comes back 404 Error-feed does not exist. I then tried to validate it and it wouldn't validate. I have looked and looked and tried to find an answer to this on my own, but I can't find one.

I'm sure it is probably something so simple, but, since I don't know anything about it, I am probably missing the simple fix.

Can someone please help??

Thanks!

When you entered the feed address, did you enter your RSS feed URL properly?

It should be www. your web site .com/feed

Yes, I did. I entered it exactly like that-www.dietstop10.com/feed.

Okay. What is the problem, though? I have no idea how to fix it.

Yes, I do just have pages. I knew it was probably something stupid simple! LOL I am going to be adding a news page where I will have posts. So, I guess after I do that, I will have a feed?! I do feel really stupid now!

Thanks for the help! I appreciate it!

I just pulled up your feed and it's empty.
Are all these added to your blog as actual posts, or just pages? It looks like they might just be pages: only posts go to the rss feed - not pages.

Hey, Amy, don't ever feel stupid. Heck I have been around a long time and I didn't know that pages were not included in RSS feeds - only posts!?!?

I am glad you brought this up as I was just starting to consider a magazine style blog and would have run into the same problem.

BTW, there are a number of ways to create an rss feed for static pages. Most of them may be beyond your skill level at this point, but check out Page2RSS - Create an RSS feed for any web page for an easy online method.

Amy, don't feel stupid. Your post and question has helped me too. I need to set up an RSS feed but didn't have any idea that pages could not be included.
Another great tip I've learned here!

Ok, this looks like a good place to ask my dumber yet question about RSS feeds. (Not that yours was a dumb question Amy, your question just opened the door for me to ask mine that I've been looking for an answer to)

I know zilch about RSS either. All I know is I have an RSS icon on my blog that when I click on it says "page not available". I have mostly posts and not pages (I didn't know about that tip either b4 now).

How do I turn on this dead link so my RSS feed is working properly. I submitted my site to Feedburner and to the Page2RSS link Phil mentioned in his post.

But I'm still stuck with a dead duck on my blogs home page. How, or what, do I do to turn this on so it's functional?

Thanks a bunch and thanks Amy for opening the RSS door for me.

Here's my site if it's any help. TOPVOLUMEMarketing.com

    Hi Glenn

Looks like you sorted it out, as I can click on the link and am directed to a valid RSS page. I checked in with both IE7 and Firefox. I also checked the one at the top of the page and the one further down, and both are working.

See, Amy, your question has helped a lot of people! There are NO stupid questions in this world.

Guess what?! I found a wordpress plugin that includes pages into your feed. I just downloaded it and activated and it works!! If you check out my feed now, it includes the recent pages I published! Awesome!

Here is the link for it.

        I'm back again!

Well...I just read Phil's post and thought "I wonder what I did to finally get the link on my site to work" so I went to my site and clicked on the RSS feed icon at the top and........page not available.

It's still a dead end and it still doesn't work. So no, unfortunately I didn't sort it out and am still at square 1 I'm sorry to say.

Anyone care to walk me through this? If you go to my site (which I mentioned in my last post above) and you see the RSS feed at the top of it you'll see it isn't working.

How, or what, do I have to do to make that link on my website functional?

        Thanks again,
        Glenn

Still works for me. I see a full page of RSS listings whenever I click on the link.

    Maybe its your browser settings.
