How often should I email my list?

I have been sending out a newsletter about once a week. Is this too much or not enough? I want to keep my list warm but I do not want to overheat it or let it get cold. I have subscribed to lists in the past but did not remember it and when they emailed me I unsubscribed because I didn't remember them.

How often should I make contact?

Well what are you emailing them? If your hitting them with offers, I would stay at once a week.

It's all about the value you provide to your list. The best formula out is to hit em' with
    Value, Value, Value, Pitch, Value.

Email them three to four times per week. Thats what I'm usually getting in my email box from the "gurus" right now. But I have been getting hit with some new product launches recently.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Anthony

It depends, some marketers send emails almost every day, while some of them just one-two per month... I try to send out at least 1 email per week.

    Here's what I do.

I call it "Mix and Match"...

I email them offers every week but I always make sure I give them good quality content, in the form of short reports and information that is easy to digest.

The key to making money from your list is relationship building. Piss them off with offers and Adswap recommendations then they will not only stop responding to you but will not buy from you again and therefore, unsubscribe.

You could try branding your newsletter with a memorable name and graphics and make sure you send it out at the same time each week.

Include lots of good value content.

That way people start to look forward to the newsletter and it stands out from all the other emails that bombard people's inbox's.

I like to keep it twice a month, so every 2 weeks. Sometimes every 10 days. I don't want to lose my subscribers. That's with 1 list. I have 4, so i can send out something every week.

  • Now...this is pretty subjective....some only send out promotional email....some gurus send out everyday....I suggest that you set yourself a goal before you send anything out

    Hello,
For me, I think that once a week is enough. More would probably make me wants to unsubscribe just because I don't read my mail often. I don't like open up my email and seeing a lot of emails from a same website / person. It also make people waiting for your email and not sick of it. Also you needs to consistence and you can keep up with.

It really depends on what you're sending them. If you're sending them daily tips or little tidbits of information, with a sales pitch thrown in once a week or so, that's fine. If it's every day, hammering away at them to open up their wallets and spring for the end-all-be-all-greatest-product-yet, they're going to get annoyed.

I've subscribed to a bunch of different lists, knowing that there would be alot of times that I would get a hard-sales pitch. But I want that hard-sales pitch mixed in with actual information that can help me. I unsubscribe from all of the ones who just try to sell-sell-sell without offering anything of substance to go with it.

There are great ways to mix in a sales pitch with news they can use. You just have to find a balance. If you're offering them something great, they won't mind hearing from you every day!
