Online biz creates Offline Monster! How about you?

Not intending to toot my own horn here, I just want to see if anyone else has experienced this.

To make a long story very short, I have an online tutoring website that does nicely. My original intentions were to make serious money from my site (hasn't happened yet!).

Ironically, my website has shifted the focus of my online business (online tutoring) to offline (private in-home tutoring). My phone doesn't stop!! I'm not complaining, the money for private tutoring is pretty good, especially considering that I'm working about 15-20 hours per week.

Has anyone else found themself in a similar position? Did your online endeavours take you down a different road?

Yes, that happens quickly with programming work. If you charge the right price you can get tons and tons of ongoing work.

    Interesting....

    One question:

    1) How did you advertise? Newspapers? Directmail?

    Success,

    Yes this happened to me.

When I first started I was promoting clickbank and adsense. I didn't have much success with adsense but saw some potential with clickbank and was making consistent sales.

However, after a year or so when I learned how to rank my sites, I started doing offline SEO (for brick and mortar businesses) and the rent a site model (where I create a site and then rent it out). The reason for me was, I found the competition to be much stiffer when dealing with clickbank and other affiliate sites where there was a ton of other Internet Marketers competing. The offline world still has a lot of gaps to be filled... for now!
