Haha I wish I owned that domain. I recon start a user contributed site like failblog and have people upload videos of doing stupid crap. Then see if you can get the viral traffic pumping round facebook and other sites like that. Ofcourse initially could just embed other videos from youtube etc that are stupid to get the site going.

Monetize it with advertising etc...

Or you could make it the central social network for admitidly stupid people online...where stupid people can connect and become friends with other stupid people?

What you saw is just the base theme of the original software packages. The software will serve both business-side purposes and the foundation for the 'entertainment'-side.

I am going to begin looking for a designer who is creative enough to create a design and logo to match the theme of the site name and the content of the videos, etc. that are available.

For example, a theme whereby videos like this 'Dumb robber'

or something crazy serious like Raw Video: Woman Attacks Judge During Hearing

better fit the overall intent and look.

If I were you I'd get into the old stirring up trouble routine.

Here's the thing. People who tend to have really strong opinions also tend to think those who disagree with them are stupid.

They also tend to enjoy loudly proclaiming how stupid those who disagree with them are.

So here's what I would do if I were you.

I'd take on a persona of someone with a particular leaning of opinion on various contentious issues.

I'd watch Google and Twitter trends every day.

I'd look to see what issue is currently whipping up a storm of debate.

And once a day I'd post a highly opinionated write up on the issue of the day, inferring between the lines that those who disagreed with the article were stupid: Stupidity Sucks!

I'd have the site open for comments, of course.

And when I, or my persona character rather, had published their article I'd tweet it and social bookmark it.

Then I'd watch everyone jump onto my site and argue until they were blue in the face, drawing in loads of traffic in the process.

As for how to monetize the traffic, Adsense is probably a winner for varied content.

You'd have to have a thick skin but hey, people love to argue so this is a way to give them what they want!

failblog is great and if you can go vital with this it can bring in some crazy money
should look into finding a guild that teaches you how to set up a video blog and set up video ads

I've seen a number of suggestions here I could see going with. I've also looked at the referenced sites - how nice!

One thing I really like about the name 'Stupdidy Sucks' is that it is short, sweet (easy to type) and to the point.

What do you think about adding the political angle? :confused: There's some really crazzzzy rationale being spewed verbally and/or by the actions of our elected officials these days. Do you think that would be worth exploring, too? :confused:

Definitely. Again, you'd need to have a thick skin but it all falls into the people love to argue thing.

If you run with the trends idea, take a look at Nibbo.com: Nibbo Search, your way

On their front page there's always hot Twitter and Google trends, which is handy.

On any given day there's always something political on there.

For example, earlier today I saw something about immigration laws. I'm sure it wouldn't take long to whip up a "spirited" conversation on that topic!

How about a website that allows users to upload stories of themselves or friends of theirs doing something really, really stupid. Once uploaded the other users can then give the story a thumbs up or a thumbs down and the stories could be moved up and down in the rankings depending on their popularity (see Digg etc for an example). The website could have all time stupidest stories, most stupid person of the week etc...

I don't know if any of you have ever read the Darwin Awards? It's a book full of stories of people doing ridiculous things. I think this idea would be a pretty good online equivalent and would probably generate quite a big following.

If it where me I would take the suggestion of the Darwin Awards as a start. Then I would add a bunch of categories with YouTube videos. I would have a section on Men, Teenagers, Criminals, maybe even some of the Jay Leno street talk stuff, politicians etc.

The sky is the limit for this stuff. Then you monetize it with Adsense and Affiliate Links.

hahaha, just get some media, like photos, or videos, and use them to promote your site, and make sure they're funny and stupid, so people can start talking of your site, promote it in social media, like facebook, this can help you to rank higher, and get more traffic, and it's just the begining, once you have accomplished that, just use adwords, or other SEM options, and you will be recognized, share quality content, and use your common sense on that.

It's been exactly one year and I finally took time out to create the beginning stages of the StupiditySucks.com Media website's infrastructure. It's coming along slowly, but surely. The content (mainly videos) are really out there! I have more coming as I have more time.

Check it out...

Start with the video on the home page. It's hilarious!!!

Then, go over to the StupiditySucks.com Media's Resources Gallery where you won't believe those TRUE stories!

I need suggestions to replace the photos on the home page as well as whatever else you think will make the StupiditySucks.com website more enjoyable.
