Is it possible to start building a list without having a site?

I was wondering if it's possible to start building a list without having a website, and if that's possible, how?

    Well you have to install the optin form on a webpage, where you will collect emails address from.

    That is like asking is it possible to start growing carrots if you don't have any land to grow it on.

    If you dont want to try your own site you can perhaps try a blogger blog, but the best one would be to purchase a domain, get some hosting, install a free wordpress blog and use that for now.

    Well you can''t make a list without a Squeeze page or opt-in.Having website is not requires.But You must have to use squeeze pages.So people can submit their info.

    Yup, you absolutely CAN start building a list without a Web site! In fact, it is not uncommon at all -- many local offline businesses do it every day. Ever gone for a haircut and been asked for your e-mail address? There you go, just one example.

    To do it, simply set up an autoresponder, set up your campaign for the list, get the autoresponder e-mail address and then refer prospects to the e-mail address. You can even forward messages from another e-mail account to the autoresponder e-mail address.

    Use the e-mail address on forum signatures, on your e-mails, on business cards, Tweet it, etc, etc, etc.

    very possible and actually very powerful if done right.

    I did something like this a while back to build up a list. i contacted all the site owners for a certain niche that appeared on the first page of Google. and told them if they installed a small bit of code to their index page, i would give them $xxx per 1000 people that signed up. of course you have to keep your promise and make sure you assure them that the list you are building is not going to be harmful or will it be annoying spam for their readers.

    then on the actual opt-in you give an offer or a contest for people to sign up. not every webmaster will allow you to do this. but depending on the niche most people will be helpful as long as they get their check.

    the best thing about this is that you can get first page traffic without having to do SEO.

    Yup!

    It's very much possible, as long as you have the right tactics...

    But that also depends on what you mean by having a website. Do you mean without having your own website and using free sites, or do you mean not having a site at all?

    If you want to build a list without having a website at all, then you need some software to help you with that... Like some pop-up scripts that can be used on any site even if they are not your own...

    Well yes it is possible to it with Aweber ( i dont know with other autoresponders).
    Aweber offers free host for opt-in forms.
    It will look some like this

    To do this simply
    1)Go to Aweber's website
    2)Log in
    3)Click on the 'Web Forms' button
    4)Design and save your web form
    5)When it asks you to publish it click on the "Have Aweber Host My Form" and you will get a link of your opt-in form.
